I am actively trying to not crash out rn cause they once again implied in podcast that Jon could have not become the Archivist prior to, like, season 3, and it’s so hard. I am fighting so many battles rn.
Also let’s talk about how they flat out said that Melanie was ‘protected’ during the Eyepocalypse because of her employment at the Institute.
It’s giving ‘I mean they did also kill jesus she did quit working at the institute. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. like i understand where you’re coming from here but they very much did kill jesus she very much did quit working at the institute.’
Far be it from me to criticize how illogical the whole Eyepocalypse situation was vis a vis Georgie and Melanie (which is a lot. a lot a lot) but. C’mon now.
I do think it’s interesting how the archives gang went from being victims of the system during most of the show to becoming the system and victimizing billions of others in the end by passing on the fears
do you think after the panopticon blew up and there were spots that never healed from the eyepocalypse that georgie became more like s5 jon? that she took it all on herself and blamed herself for the choice to pass it on since it didn’t truly get rid of the fears and now she has spread it to others? do you think she looks to melanie as a reason to keep moving forward? do you think she hopes jon and martin are dead so they don’t have to know that they died for “nothing”? do you think she was secretly hopeful that the archivist was jon and then sharply turned into concern because he shouldn’t be alive?
