do mailboxes actually exist as like an actual widespread thing? that's crazy maybe it's just because im in england but like ive never actually seen one ever i thought they were just made up for like the simpsons or something
Yeah pretty much every single house has one. The style depends on the type of route that delivers to the house. If it’s an all walking route the box will typically be on the front porch somewhere. If it’s a driving route the box will be on a post next to the road so the mail can be delivered right from the mail truck.
In apartments or new housing developments the mailboxes will be grouped together in a large box called a CBU so the carrier can deliver to all of them without having to move.
