If you were to take martin out of season 5 the story could only benefit from that. Hes just there for the questionable romantic moments and doesn't have any plot importance otherwise. You couldve just had him give jon the lonely mark and left him in there and then maybe I wouldve even felt bad for him. Plus that would be a fine ending for his character arc. Instead s5 had his whole development come undone like a mediocre sweater and for what. Fabric rustles
