it was all a stupid prank
been thinking nonstop about deltarune since playing the new chapters,, shoutout to my bf for letting me watch him playing through the weird route so i didn’t have to make Kris and Noelle sad myself
some little notes about smaller details/symbolism to explain my weird though process lol:
- Noelle’s freckles are white like a fawn’s as a child but have darkened with age, showing a loss of innocence following Dess’s disappearance and the events of the weird route.
- Noelle’s fingers are darker than the rest of her hand. This is to evoke hooves and the appearance of frostbite.
- Lower scene takes place the night after ch2 and doing the snowgrave route, where Kris goes to comfort Noelle. While Kris is in their regular clothes, Noelle is in a nightgown that is eerily similar to the dress she wears in the dark world.
- While Noelle isn’t entirely sure whether or not her and Kris were actually childhood friends, the lower scene was a moment where she finally felt like she actually “saw” Kris. With this, Kris’s eyes aren’t visible as kids but are visible as teenagers.
- The flower bushes break to review vines of thorns, mimicking some of chapter 4’s imagery.
- The flower petals from their childhood fall and swirl around present-day Noelle like a snowstorm.
