A digital drawing of Martin Blackwood and Jonathan Sims in MAG 200, done in warm, saturated colors. The composition is set up as one main image with three smaller panels overlaid. In the main image, Jon and Martin are floating slightly off the ground, Jon more so than Martin, maybe indirectly lifting him a bit. They’re almost kissing, faces very close together as Jon’s arms wrap around Martin’s shoulders, and Martin’s hands clench around the bloody knife between them. A brilliant starburst shines behind them. The background is a large, ornate window in the Panopticon, glass panes cut in the shape of eyes and fitted together, cracking in many places. There is a sideways panorama of the Eye-domain-London landscape faintly visible in the borders of the image. In the first overlaid panel, there is a close-up of Martin’s hands on the knife, one of Jon’s resting over it. The second panel shows a close-up of the lower halves of their faces, Martin appearing to be speaking, tears streaming down his face. Jon is crying too, though we can’t see his expression. The third and last panel is a front-facing shot of Jon, one of his eyes obscured by a bright stylized-eye starburst, his face set in pained determination as one tear falls from his visible eye. Over the whole image, cassette tape designs float, curling and bending. Text at the bottom of the image reads, in all caps, “Last Words.”ALT
