In “Fatigue”, Jon states that he “[doesn’t] really drink coffee”. However, when Melanie attempts to poison Elias, she mentions that “Jon likes his [coffee] black”. So, either Jon doesn’t drink coffee often, and he takes it black on the rare occasions that he does, or (and this is kind of sad to think about) he started drinking coffee sometime between those two episodes.
Also, why does Melanie assume that Jon and Elias drink their coffee the same way? Is she stereotyping Beholding avatars? I need answers.
To add my possible explainations to this…
When Jon was hiding at Georgie’s place he met at least once with Melanie somewhere in public. It might have been café and Jon just ordered first thing he saw on menu which was black coffee.
Or Melanie doesn’t know nor care what Jon drinks and she was just talking to fill silence because she was nervous.
Or Johnny once again forgot some little detail from some of the previous episodes… (which is very understandable since it’s really nothing plot relevant.)
The important question right now is when will we get statement of Jonah Magnus? Will it be the next episode? Because c'mon we will get it.
I mean it might even be double episode - first part describing his youth, relationship with associates we know from letters and his first failed ritual. Second part might then be focused more on his years as Elias watching Jon, finishing his ritual and his current state…
Either way there has to be his statement in the eighth remaining episodes… Right? RIGHT?!
I used to think that all of us Jonalias simps got a decency at least partly hate him and wish him some horrible ending as much as wanting him to win but…
Some posts I’ve seen…
You guys are okay? I’m genuinely concerned for some of you.
Magnus Institute is looking for young, traumatized and desperate employees. It may be just a perfect opportunity for you to survive the apocalypse! You can’t miss that chance!
Work as a receptionist for an evil boss now and get your second evil boss* for free!
*Second evil boss is not covered by insurance and may dissappear into thin air.
Jonny Sims in his final attempt to stop us from simping for Jonah|Elias: “No he doesn’t have sexy emerald eyes they are gray. And no he’s not misunderstood he’s just straight out evil. Please take notes.”
Hmm, so Jonah’s distance from the tapes as well as Martin saying “Come down here” in a way that implies he can’t get to him… Is Jonah fucking floating? The classic powers of the Eye, Knowing, Giving Knowledge, and Levitation. UFB (Unidentified Flying Bastard)
Ideally, Jon may also be able to fly, resulting in a twilight esque flying twink final battle
This is in the transcript:
[ID: a screenshot from The Magnus Archives transcripts. It reads, in all caps: “Note: Elias’ speech underscores the rest of the conversation, an unbreaking narrative of fear as he floats and writhes in perpetual perception.” /End ID]
I’m relistening tma with my girlfriend. I’m doing my best to keep any possible spoilers away from her and I would say I do quite a good job. We got finally to the episode 80 The Librarian…
She really liked Jurgen Leitner, thought he was cool and was sad about his dead.
She also thinks that Jonelias sounds like great ship.
I’ve been seeing this come up more and more but I am terrified by the idea that the tapes are being played back by someone (Martin, maybe) after all this has gone down
Like I love that theory and personally the implications would be really cool to explore
But this is already going to be sad enough…
To make this theory a bit less (or more?) sad - the tapes are being replayed to Jon who lost memory on the entirety of the time he was the Archivist.
I’m sure someone come up with this theory before me but the whole deal of The Beholding is knowledge, right? So wouldn’t it want to know if it’s beautiful terrifying eyepocalyptic world can be reversed?
There’s so many fears to be known and seen… but isn’t there some limit when The Eye might simply get bored?
Johny Sims took so much effort to make vampires in tma as little sexy as possible yet he gave us Georgian body stealing twink who feeds on your fears. How foolish of him.
I love the trope where Peter figures out it’s Jonah after he’s jumped bodies just as much as everyone else, but there’s no way Peter was looking into James Wright’s eyes enough to recognize them in someone else.
Of course not, it’s the smugness of his voice. The slightly condescending intonation. The extremely annoying way he chuckles. After all Peter had the misfortune of hearing quite a lot of it. Plus Jonah also probably loves throwing not-so-subtle hints all around.
(Also! Unrelated but my headcannon is that even after years of multiple marriages Peter doesn’t know colour of his eyes. Elias asked for another divorce when he found out…)
My favorite trope in LonelyEyes is when they genuinely love each other but act absolutely terribly towards each other because they are certain the other one is just using them for their evil plans or as a way to occasionally feed their entity or something like that. Bonus points if they manage to hide and deny the feelings not only from each other but also from themselves.
Important question after the episode 191. Is sleeping with the eyes open Eyepocalyse thing or is it based on the strength of avatar’s connection with the Beholding? Was Jonah sleeping with his eyes open the last century or two?
Okay but why don’t we in tma fandom talk more about how confusing it is jonelias being name of the ship and jonalias being shortcut for Elias possessed by Jonah. I mean am I the only one who must always take extra time to double check what we are talking about? The difference is literally one letter!
