So what if they started their own Institute or something in that sense. Partly to get Jon some statements he can feed on without pulling them out of people but also so they could offer to statement givers help. Either therapy or protection from the entity that hunts them or assistance if it was too late for the person and they would become avatar…
The damage is done. Fears are already in the new reality. But they can still try and deal with the guilt by helping people who will get affected by it.
Ok, so I love the idea of Jmart being alive and happy in another universe just as much as everyone else. But what I love more is the idea that jmarts DEAD BODIES are being flung about the multiverse and appearing in intensely inappropriate locations.

It’s all fun and games when angry people are going after evil avatars as Simon Fairchild but what happened to Callum Brody? You know the fourteen years old boy who never asked for this bullshit?
Peter is willing to withstand human interaction of going shopping to ports souvenir shops if it is for a sake of getting his husband some horrible cheesy souvenir he did not ask for…
I love that one of the questions TMA asks is “can you condemn someone for making decisions based on incomplete information?”.
Gertrude thought she was saving the world by sacrificing her assistants. Martin thought he was doing the right thing by not killing Jonah. Georgie thought she was doing the right thing by cutting ties with Jon. Basira let herself be manipulated by Elias because she wanted to save the world. And Jon, oh Jon, making imperfect choices based on imperfect knowledge every step of the way.
This is a recurring theme even beyond morality. Flawed rituals, incomplete understanding of the Entities, people and things that once were people running around making plans and trying to understand. They don’t have the full picture. Many of them have entirely different pictures.
Our world is full of choices, and very rarely do we truly know what any of them mean. But we make them nonetheless.

Probably all the Extinction arc since it lead nowhere. Overall season four is my least favorite season. Don’t get me wrong I think that the Extinction plot line is great as stand it so we don’t notice that it’s actually all about Jonah’s powerplay and finishing the Eye ritual. But it lacks the excitement till the reveal.
I mean the concept of new entity manifesting is really interesting. But I would almost say that all the statements just felt a bit less scary and mysterious since now we knew what is going on all about the entities avatars and rituals…
12. Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
I would almost dare to say traveling through the Eyepocalyse? I’ve written whole post about it but I love the season five and the experimental take on it. Like I said the format of normal statement started to lacking a bit of mystery so I really loved the new approach about it.
But I wouldn’t say it’s exactly unpopular… I’ve just seen that some people really dislike it.
25. How would you end XXX/Would you change the ending of XXX?
Overall I’m satisfied… Even though I would probably prefer if Jon stacked with his plan to rushed the world to the end. But not because he would decide really sacrifice Martin. I would like for Martin to refuse to kill Jon not because he loves him too much but because he would realize that Jon plan maybe is the best solution in the end.
But really on this ending I mind the most the dubious death… I really think that it’s more merciful to explicitly kill Jon than the option he would have to live with the guilt…
Also maybe it would be also nice get more information about the world post Eyepocalyse and how are people and society dealing with it but one could do almost completely new podcast out of it.
No actually I haven’t received any yet… I mean at least not here on tumblr or tma related…

I kinda already answered that… I think that Simon, Helen and Gertrude are all quite popular but if I literally was about to pick some character from the protagonists…
I have a bit conflicted opinion on Bassira. Because she’s always trying to have such a logical approach yet she always ends up having double standards which she refuses to acknowledge. About Jon becoming a monster eating other’s people trauma while being ally with monster trapping people in endless corridors. About Daisy murdering people. And of course doing nothing is more moral and therefore better than end the suffering quickly! (Yes I can excuse Daisy killing people but I draw a line at hypocrisy.)

Huh, what was his name? Jimmy Magma? Jack Magnet? Oh I know! Janette Magenta!
But really if we were talking less about straight out disliked characters and just less popular than let me tell you how much I love Oliver Banks…
7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?
There isn’t anything I would like and now I straight out dislike… I could give you much more easily few examples opposite happening…
But there are a few things I like much less now. I probably have to say jonmartin because I loved the ship. I still like it but I suppose that become a bit… bored of it?
It’s probably not even because of how are they characterized in the show or by fandom I just cannot stay interested for too long in sweet, healthy and caring ship. (this quite regularly happens to me in literally every fandom I’m in…)

Exactly the question I didn’t want to have… There’s few things that doesn’t fully sit well with me but never any “I want this to happen instead!”
But alright… Maybe I would like if instead of one of those last statements about endless ladder or lake… Or maybe just somewhere after Jon and Martin entered London… I would love to get statement of Jonah Magnus. I mean I love every statement it would be hard to decide instead of which one… And I know there already was his statement in episode 160 but it was more of sum up of his plan. He write it himself and he was fully in control of his own narrative. But you know I would just love to know more of his past…

I would like to write a bit longer and more complex post about it later but…
I really don’t like some of the takes on Martin especially in fifth season in the fandom. Now first of all I wouldn’t even say it’s majority and this is only my opinion and it’s perfectly possible that I’m the only one who doesn’t fully understand his character.
From my point of view there are basically three kinds of kinda simplification of his char. Either he’s being still characterized as sweet overprotective guy as he was in seasons 1 - 3. I sometimes see lines which were clearly said as annoyed or frustrated later portrayed in fanarts as much more understanding when he sounded clearly annoyed… I mean they are in the middle of apocalypse and his omnious boyfriend never gives him straight answer. He got all right to be a bit frustrated.
On the other hand I’ve also seen previous seasons recontextualized as that Martin has always been quite vocal and assertive… I think I’ve seen takes that he Jon actually dislikes him because he gave him harsh lecture about not killing spiders but that’s not who he was. When we first heard him he was nervous. And anxious. And desperately wanting to just do a good job and being more vocal only when he was defending Jon. But he’s been through lot he’s more in control now he’s trying to overcome his self worthe issues pretending he never had them takes a great amount of the character.
Oh and of course the third take is that he’s not understanding enough towards Jon and his whole character in season five is ooc and his relationship with Jon is overall unhealthy. And I agree that his action and decision are sometimes quite frustrating and almost hypocritical and you can view Martin’s relationship with Jon whatever way you want but I really disagree with the ooc part because people change after a trauma. Sometimes a lot or it a way you wouldn’t expect them.
Okay this accidentally got a bit longer than I intended I just wanted to make sure that I explain myself properly.
I really hope that after they (if they) reverse the eyepocalypse all the victims will forget the entirity of it. And the only ones whose memories will stay unaffected will be the ones standing oustide of the suffering. So the avatars, the ones with some imunity like Melanie and Georgie and the of course the saved people in the tunnels.
It would be hilarious have there the former cultist trying to spread the word about the horrible hellscape and the two prophets who safe them all and to whom the whole world shoudl be grateful while Melanie and Georgie are trying really hard to persuade them that: “It’s okay, really, we didn’t safe the world for the fame, can we please just pretend it never happened?”
Okay so everyone remembers apocalypse but still!
All those people who were part of wtgf’s “cult” are now there telling everyone about their prophets that saved the world.
And I mean everyone is still probably pretty confused so they would just accept any explanation so…
Are Melanie and Georgie celebrities now? How many poems about their great victory has Arun wrote? Did they manage to explain people what was Eyepocalyse really about?
Magnus archives is ending and I still haven’t seen anyone asking the real important question. If Sebastian Skinner was still alive would he notice the Eyepocalyse around him or not?
I wouldn’t really judge any of the tma protagonists if they decided to send the fears away not because it’s the best option and they want to ease the suffering of people around them but because it’s the best option for them.
It’s hard to do the sacrifice for the greater good of some people existing somewhere. I think it would be called if they decided just to be selfish let’s be honest who of us wouldn’t.
But they should just own up to. In the last episode everyone but Jon sounded a lot like “I just want to be selfish and survive but I still want to look like moral person so let me make up this kind of plausibly sounding argument.”

I was just peacefully reading the jonmartin fanfic as you do and then I was ironically reading some lonelyeyes. Then I was reading some more because I was in the mood for something less fluff.
But why cannon the I remember when exactly I started to ship them unironically? When it became my tma otp?
Anyway I was wondering how come no one questioned that some pothead from artifacts storage is now head of the Institute after Wright died? Why no one tried to argue against it and trying to get the position for themselves?
Well the thing is that to the public it looks like literally every head of the Institute since Jonah himself either mysterious vanished at some point or was found murdered (you cannot take eyes out and make it look natural can you?). The position seems to be cursed. No one wants it. What a fool is that only one person who immediately accepts it!
