Please stop saying things like “tma season five is objectively bad” or “we can all agree fifth season is not as good as the rest of the show”. It is still my favorite season. And yes it has a different format. It is not so connected to out reality and it’s missing the “this could really happen” vibe but the surreal Eyepocaliptic world is opening completely new and innovative ways to convey horror. My least favorite season statementwise was season four it all felt a bit formulatic I really enjoyed the new ways of horror storytelling in season five. And it’s fine if it’s not your cup of tea but stop with those generic statements as if all of fandom shared your opinion.
Lonelyeyes having multiple marriages but the one who always asks for divorce and also always proposes is Peter.
Let me explain. Elias seems so Lonely so he is perfect partner to get married. However after few peaceful moments of married life Peter gets scared that now he is not Lonely enough and that he might be catching some feelings and so he quickly asks Elias for divorce. But after a while away Peter comes to conclusion he probably overreacted a bit a so he proposes to him again…
Elias finds it all very amusing and more weddings mean more cakes for him so he just goes along with it.

Peter and Elias had a fight and they don’t want to talk to each other but they unfortunately also need to solve their divorce and money for the institute somehow. So their communication becomes “tell him that I said…”
Elias of course uses Rosie as his messenger while Peter throws the burden on his first mate Tadeas. They get closer as they are forced to be solving messy affairs of their bosses.

I’ve read fanfics and also seen some posts about the way Jonah reacts upon hearing his original name. That it feels nostalgic, that he enjoys hearing that he likes to be called Jonah again…
Let me raise you completely opposite theory - Jonah has no reaction at all. If someone calls him Jonah it takes him very long time to even notice that they are talking to him.
It just hasn’t been his name for so long it doesn’t feel like his anymore. He’s used to hearing it in passing in his Institute - Institute founded by Jonah Magnus - that there’s no reason to have any reaction to it; it’s only natural desensitize to the name.
He is more likely to react on being called James. It’s not so long since he was James. But it’s very long since he was Jonah…
I am pretty sure that Simon Fairchild killed much more people than Jonah Magnus. Not only because he lived longer but if you would look at the body count during one year Simon probably killed dozens of people while Jonah at most traumatized someone enough to commit suicide at most.
Yet for some reason Jonah is the most irredeemable bastard while Simon is just a funky grandpa.
I think that Peter enjoys playing a good husband but makes sure that all his gestures have some twist Elias will hate.
Elias secretly finds it almost sweet and funny because it all only shows how well must Peter know him to be able to show affection in the most inconvenient way.
Jonah switches bodies from James to Elias without bothering telling to Peter that he even can do that. He is curious if Peter cared about him as James and also if he can figure out his identity based only on hints he will give him.
However Jonah’s hints are not subtle at all plus he has the same Beholding bastard energy so Peter realizes that Elias and James are the same person almost immediately.
But Peter decides to play along with his game anyway. He pretends that he has no idea about his identity and that he actually didn’t even like James.
So in the end Jonah is the one who takes embarrassingly long to realize that Peter is not that dense and that he’s the one who’s playing him and not the other way around…

i maintain that both helen and elias are characters that exist to make you ask yourself when does the punishment fit the crime.
with helen you have like, the struggling with the picture of a perfect victim being broken or symphatizing with someone who was really quite a bad person and trying to make sense of that; whereas with elias the tragedy was more like, he was really still very young and it was just a ton of wasted potential in terms of him now not being able to grow as a person.
could elias have been a better person if given the chance? does the crime of being middle class and sort of entitled and coasting through life with the help of money and the privilege of daddy’s status deserve the punishment of being killed and worn as a skin suit?
is feeling guilty for the death of a woman immoral if the woman was a bad person? did she deserve everything and anything bad that happened to her? is the tragedy that you felt bad for her, or that you can’t feel bad for her anymore, or that you wanted her punished but not like this? how do you separate yourself from the senseless violence of it when you feel personally responsible?
do horrible things only matter if they’re done to innocent people?
can you escape the horrors of capitalism even with all that privilege, and should we care if someone with all that privilege gets killed?
how much privilege is too much?
how much participation with capitalism is too much to be refused rehabilitation?
how do you know the person was a lost cause if they’re now dead without any push from anyone to figure out they should change?
Jonah switches into new body and catches attention of some young Lukas. They start and affair because it sounds like quite isolating thing to do - steal away spouse of someone you’re related to. And who’s Jonah to say no to fresh new Lukas?
You know in reality where Peter doesn’t die and Elias’ ritual fails once again for some reason.
Anyway Peter hates it even though he should enjoy the Loneliness of being cheated on because he (unlike Jonah) actually has some feelings for him.
And so it goes on and it’s soon very clear who Jonah prefers now until one day he tells Peter that they should cut contact - he’s getting too old for him and also Jonah is basically doing Peter a favor because it’s not good for avatar of the Lonely to get so attached…
