I like the fanfics where Elias is always a bit sad when Peter is leaving on another voyage to the Lonely…

But!

Where’s the trope of Elias kicking Peter out and being relieved that he finally left because he can only stand the annoying sailor and his stupid puns disturbing his routine for so long?

Elias: Will you eat that last piece of cake or I can have it?

Peter: What do you mean by the last piece? Yesterday the cake was whole and I still haven’t even tasted it…

Elias: Yes. Yesterday. Stop living in the past, Peter… I’ll just assume you don’t want it.

The Death and the Funeral of Elias Bouchard

Written for @lonelyeyesweek

Day 7 - Death

Jonathan Sims and the rest of the archival crew really managed to do it. They prevented the apocalypse from happening and killed Elias Bouchard. They can now finally quit the institute and live happily ever after as far from London as they can. Happy to be gone they could not care less about Elias’ funeral taking place. Only one who really seems to care enough to show up is Peter Lukas…

Read on AO3

Funeral ceremony is about to start in a few minutes and Peter knows he should leave now because he really hates the “talking about the dead and remembering them” part but he simply cannot tear his look away from his husband. The lifeless body lying in the casket simply does not look like his Elias at all.

He knows that it is him. He can clearly recognize all his way too familiar features but there is something off about him and Peter cannot pinpoint what. The hair, the suit, the face… it all looks fine. More or less. As if some little yet important detail is missing. What is it? Maybe how peaceful he looks? Elias is was always quite restless and he looked tense even in his sleep. Or it might be the lack of facial expression? Elias is was very expressive; he could win the whole argument with just raised eyebrow. Or maybe this is the most obvious thing…

His eyes are closed.

Peter feels something weird happening inside him. Something that never happens at the funerals of his family. As if his chest was too tight and something was pushing on it. Could it be the feeling of grief he has heard so much about?

The servant of the Lonely is really glad that there are not many people. It is not really a surprise though. After Elias died he left a bit of a vacuum behind; there is no new head immediately stepping in as successor who would force all the employees to attend. Also lots of people working at the Magnus Institute left their jobs after the incident. Still in Peter’s taste it is starting to get crowded. At least in a close proximity to the coffin. So he retreats.

However, that proves to be a mistake. As soon as he moves to the more secluded part of the room he is approached by someone who apparently considers funerals a good place for starting a small talk.

“It is rather lovely. A bit small but it still has the atmosphere… don’t you think?”

“Hm.” The bits of fog start appearing around him. Maybe if he will simply ignore him…

“Ah, pardon my manners. Percival Knightly, pleasure to meet you,” the man offers him a hand. Peter does not even look at it.

“I am not in the mood.”

“Of course understandable. May I at least ask you how exactly did you know the deceased…?”

“No, you may not.”

“It was really such a tragedy. I have heard he was murdered in a quite brutal manner. Have you by any chance-”

“I mean it, Jonah. I am not in a mood for your games.” Peter sighs. He has really been quite enjoying the feeling of loss and grief but of course to enjoy it for too long would be asking too much.  He cannot be a mourning widower even one day.

Young man with way too familiar gray eyes sighs. “You are taking away my only source of entertainment these days.” He drops the façade of his charming innocence of someone still full of hopes, dreams and ambitions. Peter must admit he is surprised Elias Jonah can still slip into the role with such ease. Then again he used to know him as James too and it was strange at first to get used to Elias’ face after he switched bodies.

Back then Peter swore to himself he would not stick around long enough for Jonah to skip bodies again. Yet here they are…

“Are you sure it is wise to show up here?”

“It is fine. Besides… They are not here, are they? And even if they were… They never learnt the whole truth.” They is of course referring to Elias’ former Archivist, Martin and some other people from the Archives Jonah was surely telling him about as well but Peter never bothered to learn their names.

“Did you know they could do that? Quit?”

“I am surprised none of them show up to… I don’t know. Ruin the ceremony. Curse me in front of everyone. Spit on my grave. Just to make sure I am really dead…” It is funny because Elias Percival seems to be much more hurt that they have not arrived at his funeral than he is about the part when they murdered him.

“No… but I suppose it makes sense. I am not fully alive when the… switch is happening. And this time especially there was quite a big time window.” Elias Percival frowns, probably getting lost in his thoughts. Peter lets him. They stay together in the background but none of them really pay any attention to the silly words spoken, telling the lie the life of Elias Bouchard was.

“I’ve been to enough of my funerals to know you usually don’t meet there the people you expect. On the other hand you are sometimes surprised by the presence of some others you did not expect to be there…”

“How does it feel? That you are not worthy for them to even do that?” Peter cannot help himself but ask. Elias Percival shrugs.

“Like?”

“I did not think you would come.” Peter feels those bright gray eyes piercing through him in attempts to read his intentions. He honestly regrets a bit that he came right now. He was not ready to see him yet. Of course he does not plan to tell him that.

“I like funerals.”

“You’ve swore you won’t go to another one again after James’.” Yes, he indeed did. At the time Jonah had not introduced himself to him by his real name yet nor explained his body skipping trick to him. Peter was naturally quite upset when some new Head of the Institute tried to start a conversation while he wanted to mourn deceased partner. He was even angrier when he learnt for what a fool Jonah played him. But that all was ages ago…

“I guess I forgot.”

“That sounds a lot like you.” Elias Percival nods.

They stand next to each other in peaceful silence for a bit watching the priest giving a speech. The ceremony is at its end quickly as none of the people who bothered to show up really want to add anything more to the scripted generic summary. And so it is over soon and people start leaving.

“That certainly was one of my weaker funerals,” Jonah sighs as they leave the building side by side as Peter has not had any plans for the day anyway and so he lets his partner in yet another new body to choose their path. There seems to be something that is still bothering him as one can easily recognize by the fact that he is silent and not already informing him about his new plans or complaining about the state of his Institute.

He does not have to ask nor wait for too long to learn what is on his mind.

“I suppose I owe you now. For what you’ve done… There is quite a high chance I would die without your assistance.” There is no way Jonah would survive without his help. However he doesn’t bother to correct him. He is very grateful for the way he worded it.

“I guess you do…” The incident Elias Percival is referring to now… well… Peter is not sure what exactly happened that day as he is always trying to know as little as he can about his Institute. It probably started a few weeks back when Jonah’s precious Archivist woke up from coma and joined the tense situation in the Archives. They were still unhappy how they failed to frame Elias for murder.

Apparently they decided to take a different approach to removing Elias. They managed to find and hide away some artifact that could cut the connection between the avatar and the entity they serve. So naturally they decided to murder Elias with it – removing his usual regenerating powers and his tie to the institute. Peter does not know any details as he only found Elias’ body lying lifeless in his office when he came by later that day. He tried removing the artifact which he easily pinpointed as the cause. He assumed it might lead to his Eye regenerating powers activating again. But it did nothing. Elias was still very much dead. And it seemed so unreal to Peter that he could have really been caught off guard like this. That there is no backup plan this time. That this might be it? Elias- no, Jonah Magnus might really be dead…

Even though… his eyes were still there, opened in the terror of the attack he did not see coming for once and the eyes should be the only thing that really mattered right…?

It was probably stupid idea trying to save him. He really tried it just because he did not believe it could work. The body of the host, Elias, was dead. Jonah’s original body… well Peter could never find a way to panopticon on his own so no point in checking that one. So it was really almost just an experiment out of curiosity. So long story short and spared all the gory details, Peter grabbed the first employee that went around and performed the whole eye switching thing. It somehow worked as the man currently standing next to him is proof of that.

Even though curiosity is against Peter’s nature he wonders what was happening to Jonah in those hours his eyes were left in a dead body. Was he conscious in some weird way? Was he dead for a while? Peter may wonder but he will certainly not ask and so he will probably never learn the answer. He looks at Percival carefully trying to notice something off about Jonah he knows… Some signs left after his near death experience…

No there is nothing. Percival looks exactly as the same smug bastard as Elias and James before him.

“Actually I will give you a way to repay your debt immediately.” Percival looks like he would love to protest which is understandable. The man he took over used to be just some regular librarian. It will very likely require lots of arguing, blackmailing and maybe even help from the institutes main benefactor (so Peter again) for Jonah to get himself in the position of the Head of the institute. But debt is a debt. He nods.

“I am listening?”

“Don’t talk about it. Ever. It never happened and our relationship will continue as if I was not involved at all in your latest body skip.” Peter does not want to be reminded of this failure of his toward the Lonely. He had the perfect opportunity to abandon him and let die the only person he ever cared about yet… He just could not do that. He just had to save that annoying voyeur

“As you wish.” Elias Percival raises an eyebrow and licks his lips. He looks like there are many questions going through his head and that he is also drawing a lot of conclusions but Peter is content with that as long as all the thoughts stay in his head.

The awkward silence falls on them. Not for long though as Jonah still appears to be very much himself.

“Now with that thing solved… I will need to go with you over few things I might use your assistance for. First thing I will need you to withdraw Lukas family funding contribution so-”

Or maybe not because this does not sound as anything Jonah would request with a sane mind.

“What?  You want me to stop sending money to your institute?!”

“Oh no, not really. And don’t interrupt me! What I was getting to is that I need you to only pretend you and other benefactors are concerned about the future of the Magnus Institute, you know with all those ridiculous doubting the institutions and just because of a little murder,” Percival takes a deep breath as he is getting a bit aggravated, “Anyhow that is not the point. The important is the part where you proclaim that in the end you changed your mind after a talk with me. Percival is too young to be considered for a future Head otherwise. And since I do not have any documentation naming him prepared I need to do something to get myself into the spotlight. This little success might be enough to at least consider me for the position. Then I can deal with the concurrence through good old fashioned black mail… Any questions?”

“Uh… just… can you tell me just what exactly am I supposed to do without all the other information?” Percival smiles and takes his hand.

“Yes, yes I will walk you through it. Though it would be easier doing it over dinner… don’t you think?”

So this kind of overlap with the prompt new body and I originally wanted to post two fics yesterday but I didn’t manage to finish my afterlife fic so apologies this is falling in the rebirth category now! Though of course I claimed Death to be the official prompt in attempt to fool you and make you at least for a bit believe I would really just kill Jonah…

Also apologies to my dear friend Percy for stealing their name for Jonah’s new body. It just sounded like a name he would like…

“Till death do us apart? …and maybe a bit longer.”

I posted these cosplay pics once in the past already but this time they has different edit so it’s basically different… right? Sorry it just fits the last prompt for the @lonelyeyesweek so well!

Me as Elias, @trustworthy-liar as Peter

Everyone is talking about the jmart anniversary and no one mentions the anniversary of Peter’s death…

He would love that.

Day 6 - Entity Swap

One of them spends most of the year travelling all around the world seeing all its wonders. The other one stays locked in the Institute. It is not that hard to guess which one of them serves to the Eye and which one serves the Lonely…

Read on AO3

Peter Lukas loves traveling around the world with his ship. What could be better and more fitting for a servant of the Eye than to sail through the seas as he pleases,  discovering all the hidden secrets of the most forgotten places on the Earth, gaining forgotten Knowledge and Seeing all the wonders the world has to offer with his own Eyes. And the most importantly of course – also feeding his patron with different flavours of the worries, fears and traumas people are experiencing in the different countries.

As amazing as it is to cross over the ocean all the way there and back, one of his favourite places is still the city of London. It is not because the sight of the city would be that amazing or wonderful – far from it. However it is one of the most monitored cities in the world and how could the soul of a Beholder not appreciate that? Knowledge that he cannot even cross a street without dozens of cameras – from ATM, from nearby stores, the traffic ones– turning its Eye on him, it’s truly delightful!

It is strange though how he chose from all the places to build his Institute here as well. True, in two hundred years London certainly changed a lot but it was hardly quiet, peaceful or abandoned back then. As always Peter is curious about his intention and as always he sees it as one more reason to not to tell him anything.

Whistling he approaches the Magnus Institute – quite a big building in the middle of the city – which you could somehow still easily miss if you did not know exactly where to look for it. He opens the door with an elbow as both his hands are preoccupied carrying a big box containing few things he picked up on his travels.

Peter never felt the particular need to hoard the artefacts. He is the servant of the Eye. The point is therefore to See to witness everything with his own Eyes. There is no need for that. Though lately he always makes sure to grab a few interesting or possibly cursed objects. It would be rude to show up after such a long time without appropriate gifts.

“Hello, I am here to see my husband!” he announces loudly to the receptionist. She winces and looks around in fear that someone will blame her for such a loud visitor. As always there is still no one around.

“I… uhm… who?” she hesitantly turns back at Peter who is cheerfully smiling.

“You know, James-… no, I think it is Elias now… Elias Butcher? Boucher? Budget? I don’t know why he always has to pick the worst names.”

“Uh… do you mean… Elias Bouchard?”

“Yes! That sounds about right… even though… are you sure it is not Butcher?” Peter grins while the woman on the reception desk continues staring at him in disbelief.

“I didn’t know Mr Bouchard is married.”

“Oh, you didn’t? That is very unfortunate for you then. He hates when people know too much about him.”

“What you mean by it… uh… I- I will announce to you…”

“It is alright! I will find my way. See you around.”

Peter winks at her since his hands are still full and whistling again he turns around leaving a mildly confused, mildly terrified woman behind.

The Institute is a maze. Full of corridors leading in the same direction and full of others leading to dead ends. Full of offices which seemed way too big for just one person but too small to fit there two. Full of empty rooms or doors with no room behind them. One could easily get lost there. Even a basic task might take hours considering how far away all seems all the basic utilities form each other.

What luck that Peter Knows the way very well and in a couple of minutes through a few shortcuts he stands in front of the door leading to the office of the Head of the institute. Or at least he thinks these are the doors… They all look exactly the same and of course that there is no sign, no plate with name trying to give any guest any sense of space.

He kicks in the door a few times and when he hears nothing he tries to open it again with his elbows. To his surprise the door is not even locked!

“Hello Jonah!” Peter cheerfully greets the man who is frowning at some documents on his desk. On the first look he seemed to be the least remarkable person that ever lived – he is of rather small posture, dressed in a boring grey suit matching the colour of his eyes and hair that lost the bright ginger colour quite some time ago. But one cannot always trust the first impression as he also appears to be in his forties and claims to be named Elias Bouchard.

From all the people Peter ever met, Jonah Magnus is the most fascinating and charming one. It has taken Peter a while to get through his dull and cold demeanour but once he has he could no longer unsee his sharp wits and occasionally even a bit nicer and sweeter side.

“You are here already? Haven’t you left like yesterday?” Jonah does not even look up and Peter cannot help himself but smile over the familiarity of his act.

“It has been three whole months! Have you not missed me, oh fog around my lighthouse, cliffs around my port, barnacle-”

“No for a fact I was very happy without you and your ridiculous names of endorsement,” he sighs dramatically but corners of his mouth twitch a bit upwards.

“I did miss you. I was writing you that on the postcards.”

“Yes I know. I could not miss the overflowing mailbox. Once again I beg you not to send me anymore of them. I don’t even know where to put them…”

“Have you not say the last time you are throwing them all away?” It is always cute to see Jonah’s pale skin to colour with blush.

“Yes! Yes I am. That is what I meant. My bin is overflowing with them.”

“Feel free to throw them away, I will send you new ones!”

“That is exactly what I beg you not to do!”

Peter decides not to tease Jonah any longer; he is starting to look a bit exasperated and he knows better than to push his buttons too much. One time when Peter crossed the limit of Jonah’s tolerance, the servant of the Lonely filled the office with fog. It took the servant of the Eye a few minutes to get out and when he did he found himself in front of the Institute with doors locked. He would rather not repeat that. And so to offer peace Peter finally puts the box down on the desk. By the sound it makes it is clear that it is much heavier that one might guess by the ease with which the sailor has carried it.

“I am bringing you gifts!”

Jonah looks unimpressed. “I am not interested. Please could you find some other place to throw all your useless crap in than my institute?”

“I thought your institute is supposed to research the supernatural? I am bringing you cursed and priceless artefacts to study and all I ask in return is your love. Should you not be more grateful?”

“First of all your price is too high. Plus I have plenty of things to study for decades since you must bring me something every time…”

Saying that the institute’s approach to supernatural research is specific or interesting would be an understatement. As far as Peter knows Jonah Magnus started the Institute way back in 1818 shortly after learning about the Fears. Jonah pretended he was only interested in studying the supernatural even though he already had a scheme in mind regarding how to serve his chosen patron. He decided to lure in scholars with the promise of achieving great discoveries. Then he made sure to make their life just a lonely misery with them sacrificing their life in pointless study isolated from society.

Peter also knows Jonah was somehow acquainted with his ancestor Mordechai Lukas, who decided to sponsor his project in exchange of sharing all the knowledge and discoveries the institute will create as a byproduct of making scholars lonely. The deal lasts till now and that is how he and Jonah met at first… But that is all Peter knows about his past as Jonah is not usually very talkative concerning his past.

Forsaken has granted him a long and lonely life to serve its cause. Though lately Peter is doing his best to sometimes interrupt the lonely part of it… He changes name from time to time for legal reasons. Not that it is even necessary as no one ever looks into the institute and its matters way too closely. And if someone really even notices its existence and starts asking way too many questions it usually only leads to their mysterious disappearance.

“You can always hire more people to sort it out? I sometimes doubt you really have any employees at all. I rarely run into anyone…”

“That is exactly the point. I do not really want to risk they could meet. Now regarding your gift…”

“Ah well as much as it pains me if you do not truly want it…” Peter put on a theatrical look of tragedy and grabs the box again. Jonah raises his hand to stop him. Their fingers brush and he is as cold as ever.

“It is fine… since you have already brought it here. Just put it in the artefact storage on your way out. Someone will get to it eventually.”

Peter lets go of the box again rather grabbing Jonah’s hands into his leaning closer over the desk. Jonah is still doing his best to look unbothered but when Peter kisses his hands he cannot help himself but smile over the silly behaviour of his partner.

“We can always get a divorce if you despise my affection so much, my beloved husband.” Peter gently strokes the golden ring on Jonah’s finger.

“No need. Time spent together with you is so short when you live as long as I do that it hardly matters anyway.”

“It hardly matters to you. It still matters to me, my dear Jonah.”

“I could not care less, Peter,” Jonah grabs his collar and finally pulls him into a kiss.

Day 5 - Gertrude Era

Peter Lukas is a really interesting person for a servant of the Lonely and James Wright would love to get to know him a bit better. Unfortunately his Archivist is there to interrupt their meeting a bit with very unreasonable complaints…

Read on AO3

“Mr Lukas, you are late.”

“I told you last time to feel free to start without me, Mr Wright.”

“I have. And I am done. All it needs is your signature. Unless you want to read through it of course…”

“Wonderful. At least I can be done here quickly.”

Even though at this point Peter Lukas could just scribble his signature and turn around he decides to sit on the chair opposite the current Head of the Magnus Institute: James Wright.

It is far from the first time James met Peter. They have been dealing together quite a lot. Rest of the Lukas family has probably realized Peter can tolerate James’ presence and so they have decided to use that fully. Surprisingly Peter does not seem to mind too much. Sure he complains about having to stop in London so often and about how uncomfortable he feels in the Institute or how hard it is to find office of the Head of the Institute but rarely about James himself which is… interesting.

James has dealt with lots of different Lukases during his lives and would dare to say he has always been able to pinpoint what they think about his current incarnation quite easily. Albeit it usually was ‘get rid of him as quickly as possible’ but that is not the point.

With Peter though, he has no idea what goes in his head during their interaction. He would love to just look and see for himself but with servant of the Lonely it is hard sometimes to see in their minds. And unfortunately for James even though Peter is still relatively young, he already has quite a strong bond with the Forsaken. Overall on a first look he speaks and appears as every other Lukas, doing his best to appear as distant as possible but his actions do not always match as sometimes it is Peter initiating further conversation instead of doing his best to avoid it.

“I am surprised you have a normal pen. From the look of this place I would expect I will have to sign it with a quill.”

“I am glad you appreciate the well preserved historical artefacts around the Institute. Do you know there really were only minor changes made in the office since the first founder Jonah Magnus?  It really is as if his presence was still there…”

“Are you just trying to suggest you need more money for the renovations, James?” As always, a subtle hint seems to go right over Peter’s head.

“I was not but when you are mentioning it… there are a few changes I would love to make given I would have enough finances for that.”

“Did we not agree on raising the budget on our last meeting?”

“We did? I cannot really recall…” Caught up in their conversation, James would almost not notice he is about to have another visitor quite soon. And she looks quite angry. “Hold that thought. As much as I would love to continue in our discussion I think you would probably prefer to disappear right now,” James, feeling merciful today, decides to warn his guest who looks at him confused.

“Why-…” Peter starts but then he hears clapping of heels quickly approaching the office and freezes in terror. He regains his senses and disappears to the Lonely just in time, right before Gertrude Robinson barges in.

“James,” Gertrude greets him coldly.

“Gertrude, pleasure to see you. What brings you to my office?” Head of the institute smiles at his Archivist.

 “Elias Bouchard.”

Of course. Of course it is him again… James tries not to sigh and keep his best helpful smile intact.

“What about him?”

“He was distracting one of my assistants again-…”

“Maybe he was just trying to help him?”

“And because he thought I was not there he decided it is alright to smoke there. Now the whole Archives smell like weed.”

“Well… at least he was mindful towards you? As you said – he would not do it in your presence…”

And documentation on Michael Shelley’s desk caught on fire from his joint. I don’t think files for case 9790916 are salvageable” Gertrude’s voice remains cold but there is a sign of malice. Of course there is. She knows how important case files – the real ones – are for him. She raises her eyebrows waiting to see if James will come up with an excuse for this one too but honestly he is at a loss here.

“How… unfortunate.” The smile remains on the face of the Head of the Institute but he is clenching his fists under the table. He would start planning Elias’ murder by now if it was not planned already.

“I want to see some real consequences for him, James.” The fate of Elias Bouchard will be cruel enough but it all needs its time and James still needs at least a year to prepare everything.

“I’ll talk to him.”

“I want him fired.”

“Ah, isn’t it a bit rushed? Everyone can make a mistake sometimes…”

“Do I need to remind you of all the ‘mistakes’ he has done till now? I’ve actually made a list if you want to look over them,” Archivist offers because of course she has.

“No need to. I will make sure further incidents will not happen,” Head of the Institute says. Tone of his voice implies he is done with this discussion. Gertrude probably does not notice.

“I have my doubts.”

“I am sorry to hear that.”

Gertrude glances at him coldly. James reciprocates the stare. They stay like that for a couple of seconds, both of them refusing to be the first one to cut off the eye contact. This silly match could easily last minutes as it has happened in the past but this time they are all interrupted rather early into their unspoken fight by a couple of books falling on their side. As if something – or someone – bumped into the shelf the books are on…

They both turn towards the noise at the same time. James, knowing what exactly caused the mysterious event, focuses his attention back on Gertrude. She is staring right in the Peter’s direction, frowning. She doesn’t say anything but this is still quite interesting… as it is not exactly easy even for him to see through the thick fog of the Lonely.

“Anyhow do you need anything else?” As interesting it would be to test his Archivist’s abilities, he already has different plans with Peter today.

“Yes actually,” Gertrude turns back to him and hands him a file James has not even noticed till now, preoccupied worrying about the Archives. “When I had to climb all the way up here I also brought you a suggested budget for my research trip to India.”

“I will look over it and we can further discuss it tomorrow?”

“I have quite a mess in the Archives because of your assistant. I don’t think I will have time. Maybe you should just approve it as it is,” for the first time since she has entered the room Gertrude smiles at him. James is already worried about what all she wants.

“I will see. Now is that all?”

“Yes that is all.”

“Have a good day then,” James waves his hand towards the door hoping this really is the end of their discussion and the Archivist seems to finally be satisfied as well. She gives him a nod instead of words of goodbye and finally decides to leave him alone. Well, alone till Peter re-emerges from the Lonely. It takes him a few minutes as he probably wants to be really sure Gertrude is nowhere near.

“I don’t like your Archivist.”

“Why I wonder…” James opens the file with Gertrude’s requests. No TNT, no gun powder, no heavy weaponry. That is almost suspicious. Though it still looks like quite an expensive business trip due to travel and accommodation expenses… There surely must be some other hotels than four star ones.

“Though at least you seem to have troubles with her as well…” Peter lurks over his shoulder on the very list of her requests regarding her next work trip. James quickly closes it as he does not want Peter to think he just lets his Archivist just demand and do whatever she wants.

“That is none of your business, Peter.”

“I think it is since it will be money from my family covering her vacation.”

“We will negotiate about it further.” He is sure he can persuade her to degrade her first class seat to a business class seat at least… Yes, Gertrude is hard to deal with sometimes but so far his longest surviving Archivist. She is very effective in what she does and unfortunately she knows it.

James wonders whether Peter will become just another one victim on Gertrude’s rampage to stop every ritual. He told him nothing concrete of course but it seems like it will take at least a few more years before he attempts to do something to bring The One Alone here. Maybe he will be smart enough to disappear in time, he hates any kind of social interactions after all… On the other hand Gertrude is Gertrude…

“What was actually your assistant even doing in the Archives?” his Lonely guest interrupts his chain of thoughts with a question.

“I was afraid he would mess up my system here… so I sent him to help there. Apparently I will really have to find him some work he cannot mess up too badly…”

Peter raises an eyebrow but stops himself from inquiring further.

“I have my reasons why I keep him employed. Do you want to hear them?”

“No. Not really,” Peter shrugs as he probably already used up the entire curiosity limit Lonely allows. Which works just fine for James. He plans to switch bodies in only a year or two and he would hate to spoil the surprise for Peter. It will be much more fun if Peter does not know anything.  James is quite fond of the man. And how else can he find out for sure that the servant of the Lonely cares for him at least than to see how he will react to his death.

Ah well no matter what the future will bring why not rather enjoy the present for a bit. And talking about enjoying the present…

“Now weren’t you mentioning something about lunch before we were so rudely interrupted?”

“No I don’t actually think so.”

“Maybe you were about to invite me to go have one with you?”

“Still doesn’t ring a bell.” Peter might try to look clueless but twitching of the corners of his mouth gives him away.

“Peter!”

“Alright, alright, you are always so demanding… Do you know some place which is not very crowded?”

“Of course I do. If the price is not an issue…”

Peter only sighs and hands James his coat. He has been so far really quite entertaining company for someone dedicated to Forsaken. Also he is handsome and that is something James can appreciate in a man. He can really see some long term partnership between them. He really hopes Gertrude spares him when the time comes.

Rainy Evening

Written for @lonelyeyesweek

Day 4 - Humanity

When Peter comes home he finds his husband engaging in highly suspicious activity. Does he see well or is Elias really… resting?

Read on AO3

Elias Bouchard likes routine. All of his days play out by the same script. It could be summed up shortly as spending the day running his institute and spending the evening by Watching. It could be described in great detail as every task, even as little as a cup of coffee is tied to a concrete time.

There are not many things that could make him interrupt it. Usually only his Archivist keeps ruining his day. Even on occasions he happens to be married his routine stays almost unchanged (yet Peter complains he pays him way too much attention anyway.)

Yes, Elias likes familiarity with the same tasks repeated every day. So, even as he is leaving Institute precisely at five o’clock he is already planning his time of rest. First he will make himself a cup of coffee. Then he will dive into the bath. He will Look how Gertrude is doing on her trip to Pu Songling Research Centre. Hopefully he will also manage his skin care routine before his husband returns from whatever he is usually doing the whole day when he happens to stay in London. He smiles and opens his umbrella as the rain finally starts to drop from the cloudy sky which has been hovering over London the whole day.

And he indeed manages to prepare himself a double shot of espresso but then he makes the mistake of sitting on a couch. It should have been just a quick rest to drink his coffee but the cushion seems even more comfortable than usual. Also there is a warm blanket lying right next to him from two days ago when he threw Peter out of their bedroom because he was snoring too loudly.

So what if he postpones his plans just for a minute or two as the rain keeps knocking on his windows and instead of Watching he decides to let his eyes rest.

He is half asleep when a sound of keys in the lock brings him back to reality. It takes the intruder too many tries before he finally finds the one that fits and he manages to open the door. Elias does not bother to Look nor look nor open his eyes all together. If the inability to remember the key to his house is not a clear giveaway he is still able to recognize Peter by footsteps – much louder than one would expect from the servant of the Lonely.

“Good evening my dearest voyeur; what are you watching tonight?” Peter announces himself as always way too cheerfully. He is asking him that every time and most of them Elias does not bother to answer as he would usually be preoccupied with Watching his Archivist, some other employee or even spy on servants of other entities.

“I thought I have already told you I am not very fond of your attempts to use endearment.” Elias turns his gaze towards his husband – both his coat and hair soaking wet as he has been avoiding society enough to never learn about umbrellas. He seems to be caught off guard for a second as he did not expect to get any answer. Unfortunately he regains his ‘wits’ very quickly.

“Oh but why, I wonder, oh, siren of my sea, light in my lighthouse, seashell on my beach, barnacle on my ship…”

Elias rolls his eyes. This is not even worthy of his answer. He rather waves at his tiny cup. “Be useful and make me one more cup of coffee.”

“No one interesting to stalk tonight?” Peter inquires and it is the closest he can get to ask his husband whether he is alright since it is very strange to find him just relaxing.

“Maybe I am just already done with watching. Do you wish to hear about it, husband dear?”

“Depends whether you want the coffee now or in a few months after I return recovering from all the unwanted information…”

Elias for once is not in a mood for their bickering so he only shrugs and rolls more into the blanket. For lack of other things to do now Peter picks up his cup and heads to the kitchen where the coffeemaker is. The silence in the flat misses its usual tension and is surprisingly comfortable.

“Here you go.” Peter puts in front of Elias his fourth attempt (not that Peter would ever admit that) which almost looks drinkable.

“Took you long enough.” Elias takes a sip. It tastes acceptable.

“No words of thanks?

“I would offer a kiss but I do not want you anywhere close. You are cold.” Peter is incredibly easy to manipulate sometimes. There is no more certain way to make him do something than request the exact opposite of him. Elias does not even finish a sentence and his husband is already next to him pulling him into a hug and trying to get his share of the blanket.

Then again maybe his husband might know very well what he is doing and just taking the offered excuse. Elias chooses not to think about it too much. He rather puts some effort into his scheme in the form of a very light push against Peter. He naturally hugs him even tighter. He is a bit too cold for his taste actually…

“Is your body giving up and dying again? Or are you getting that old that you forgot your own schedule?”

“I am fine Peter. It’s just the weather probably. You don’t have to worry.”

“I don’t.”

“Of course you don’t.”

Peter scoffs and Elias smiles, closing his eyes. He is not completely done seeing yet. He cannot help himself but Look through one of the paintings on the wall curious what facial expression Peter has. He is not surprised to witness one of his soft looks. They are not as rare as his husband would claim. Then again Elias himself has not realized he is smiling till now. Cuddled together like this they cut quite a lovely image of domestic bliss…

He closes his Eyes as well. The rain is still dripping on the windows and Peter finally pulls him for his promised kiss. Yes this all feels so awfully and unnaturally human for them. But maybe a glimpse of humanity once in a while will not kill them…

“Yes… yes, I think I can marry you one more time.”

I completely forgot I wanted to also share some cosplay pics in the occasion of @lonelyeyesweek

Day 3 - Fantasy AU

Jonah is an incubus. Mythical creature no one can resist and madly fall for them every sense, physical and emotional, immediately. Jonah himself of course is immune to such a silly human feeling as love. Though he might feel a bit of fondness towards one particular human who keeps resisting his charms…

Read on AO3

“I am home,” an elegant gentleman in his forties announces himself upon returning to his flat. He is slender and not that tall; he is thin but his confident posture would easily make you miss that fact. His brown hair is catching glimpses of silver and there are signs of wrinkles on his face but it only adds to his charm. He is quite happy with how he looks. At least till he walks past a mirror.

He frowns. Maybe he is a bit too thin and a bit too small. Also the suit seems a bit boring. Maybe he might try to exchange the tie for a bowtie? He stretches and he gets a bit taller and a bit chubbier, hair turns blond as it has been a while since he had lighter hair color. His clothes shift with him as if it was only an extension of his body. (It is.)

He frowns a bit more. No, he is too chubby now. Or maybe just still not tall enough? Also today is not his blond hair day… He stretches again, taking a new form. He gets a bit taller and more muscular hair completely black.

No, definitely a mediocre high and slender figure is more his style. What if he went for a mustache? Or maybe he could make his hair curly? Maybe he could also try long hair… It is so hard to decide how one wants to look when their options are unlimited. Well almost. There is always one constant that is staying exactly the same – his gray eyes. Important token helping him to keep his sense of self intact.

Incubus could probably spend a few hours picking a perfect new look for himself (and sometimes he does) but something catches his attention. Even if he cannot decide what shape his nose should have he can smell the scent of something being baked very recently. Still not fully settled on one look he heads into the kitchen.

“Here you are Peter. You have not even come to welcome me!” He catches his partner doing something over the counter. Peter is much taller and overall bigger than most of the form the incubus takes. His posture is also much more awkward like he would wish to disappear half of the time someone is talking to him. That is of course impossible as Peter is, unlike him, very much human.

“Jonah! Ah, sorry I wanted to finish this before you came home. How was your day, my dear husband?” he asks, not blinking an eye to Jonah’s still unstable shape as he quickly covers whatever he has been working on till now.

“Wonderful. I’ve been quite lucky today. I met today two very pleasant gentlemen who were up for a threesome. They’ve really fucked me quite properly. Both at once. And they actually had quite some stamina. It really took them few rounds to collapse. Filling me again and again in all the possible ways…”

“That sounds lovely. I am happy you had fun!” Peter nods cheerfully. As he always does in their routine small talk.

“You aren’t even a bit jealous?” Jonah hugs him from behind.

“I see no point in it as there is really nothing I could do about it. They are all dead aren’t they?” his husband… might have a point and so he changes the subject.

“Any preference about my look for the evening?” Incubus whispers to his ear while his hands slide a bit lower as he is trying to turn an innocent hug into something more.

“Not at all,” Peter answers cheerfully and pushes Jonah’s hands away from his hips. “I told you; I am as interested in your looks as I am interested in sleeping with you.” Jonah scoffs and retreats, leaving the man alone heading to their living room.

“Still playing hard to get?” He falls on their coach and he finally lets his appearance settle – short ginger hair, way too many freckles, rather small body frame. He usually ends up in this form. He would not call it his favorite but this was how he looked when he first met Peter…

“And yet you still keep trying,” Peter laughs. There is not even a glimpse of blame in his voice. The human knows Jonah simply cannot help himself but keep trying. He also knows that the moment he would give in, Jonah simply could not help himself but kill him. It is not as if Jonah really wants to lay with Peter that badly, he knows that he will regret and miss him afterward when that finally happens… unfortunately it is simply in Jonah’s nature.

As humans cannot deny themselves food for way too long, Jonah simply cannot retrain from seducing people feeding on them. He needs to do that to survive - price for all the perks of being an incubus. And it is impossible to sleep with someone without completely draining them of their life. It is also great fun and very enjoyable and he never wants to stop before he squeezes every last bit of life out of his victims… Just as much as his victims would not even think about resisting him.

Well usually.

Peter Lukas is a real conundrum to him.

They met in a bar one evening. Jonah deemed him to be an easy catch when he engaged in conversation with him. However after Jonah suggested they could move it elsewhere instead of agreeing and ending up in his bed as another one of his meals he just blushed a lot and invited him on a date? Jonah was confused. Maybe even a bit frustrated. However, he was also very intrigued.

And so they met and as pleasant as some of their chats were they never led to anything. Peter just wanted to spend time together which was a very alien request for more and more aggravated Jonah who kept asking himself the question ‘what is wrong with Peter?’ He should be irresistible to all humans, completely rewriting their sense of attraction, twisting whatever preference they used to have to himself and multiplying it.

Nevertheless Peter seemed to be completely immune to his charms. Well the supernatural ones at least. Though he showed no interest in going to bed with him he very soon confessed his love. Jonah naturally laughed at him. In the end he revealed him the truth about himself and his way of life. Peter did not seem to be too bothered by it and by that point Jonah must have admitted he was deeply fascinated by the man. Jonah is the predator here and what more is Peter than stupid prey refusing to be eaten, yet begging for his attention.

And so when Peter proposed, Jonah said yes. Why not in his immortal existence change things up for a while after all? This little game of domestic bliss sounded like fun. Funny short lived paradox of incubus in a committed relationship.

“Close your eyes. And don’t you dare to grow some more!”

“I already told you that is not how my shape shifting works.” Jonah complains but obliges in the end. Peter settles something in front of him.

“You can open them now,” he allows him and the incubus is welcomed by the sight of delicious looking chocolate cake. He does not actually need to eat but also he is able to. And cake is one of his favorite meals.

“Cake for dinner? Why?”

“It is our anniversary!”

“Oh… already?” they could not be together for a year “Thank you. I have not gotten you anything…” Jonah admits and he realizes he feels a bit guilty for forgetting. He has not kept track because he did not believe their joke of a marriage could last even that long. Yet here they are.

“It doesn’t matter. It is just another day… I just wanted to give you something. How do you want to spend the evening?”

“I could give you a blowjob? Just a quick short one. You could even survive it… Of course if you decided to bury your lovely cock right inside me… But if you preferred me doing the work I could climb on your lap and ride you. Just imagine it, your dick sliding in and out.. Oh I could take you in so well…”

“Are you finished?” Peter sighs. During his monologue he already cut two pieces of cake.

“More or less… I could give you more details if you wanted…” Jonah shrugs and switches their plates because Peter has given him what appeared to be a smaller piece.

“No need to. It indeed is a very original idea I have never heard before. I will have to think about it for a bit,” Peter puts on a dramatically thoughtful face. Jonah rolls his eyes.

“Fine. Then I think there is a new episode of Paradise hotel. Or wait maybe that’s on Saturdays and today is a new Bachelor coming… or is it Big Brother? But one of those for sure!”

“You know that I hate these types of reality shows…”

“Well you asked me what I wanted to do and I gave you two whole options, Peter. I wonder what your problem is.”

“I will just rather not ask at all next time.”

“You say that every time, my dear,” Jonah grins as Peter sighs and gives him a quick kiss on his cheek. Jonah smiles and cuddles into him. He takes a bite of his cake and it indeed is very delicious. This is actually quite nice. He would not mind playing this game on a happily married couple for a few more months. Maybe even years…

However, one should not get him wrong. He still wants to drain the life out of Peter. And he is certain he shall one day. But for now… incubus finds this illusion of domestic bliss surprisingly nice.

Disappointing Your Own Family and Other Lonely Things

Written for @lonelyeyesweek

Day 2 - Proposal

Peter Lukas thinks there is nothing more Lonely than to ignore all the members of his family and just mind his own business. Unfortunately some of his relatives seem to not fully share his view and simply must share their opinion on Peter’s life.

Read on AO3

Peter is really starting to dislike family funerals lately. He still enjoys the silence and peace found in mourning someone you never knew. He likes feeling no sense of loss about them disappearing from this world. It is nice to be looking at an empty casket not being able to recall any memories with them – not even their face. Yes, all those things are still as wonderful as ever.

The problem are those relatives who are unfortunately still very much alive. Last few years, instead of simply parting ways without even looking at each other, members of his family have been trying to start a conversation with him. Just two years ago someone asked him how their ritual was going. Four years before that someone else told him to take over the family affair of dealing with the Magnus institute. And three years before that he was informed about getting the position of the captain of Tundra. All those things could have been solved through much less personal ways such as correspondence. Or even better not to be discussed at all!

Unfortunately even this funeral of a cousin, whose name Peter already forgot, is not very different. Just as he is almost out of the door his uncle stands in his way.

“What is this?” Nathaniel Lukas waves a golden piece of paper in front of his face. It seems familiar… He takes it out of his hand. He does not need to read it to recognize that way too curly and pretentious handwriting.

“Invitation to my and Elias’ wedding. You’ve missed it by a year.”

“You are married to that man?” Nathaniel spits out a curse. Peter is happy to correct him.

“No, I’m not. We’ve got divorced last month.” If they were not he would start planning divorce now though. He was quite clear about not wanting his family to be included in any way. Yet Elias appears to send invitations to them against his wishes anyway – it could not be any less surprising.

“Why?”

“I don’t know why Elias felt the need to send you the invitation. I told him that-…”

“Why did you marry him?”

Peter shrugs. “I was not putting many thoughts into it.”

“Letting yourself being used by that voyeuristic bastard? Have you lost your mind? He married you just for money.”

“I know. And it sounded like quite a Lonely thing to do. I would not marry him if I suspected he cares about me; no need to worry,” Peter notes cheerfully even though he really wishes for this conversation to be over already.

“This is unacceptable, Peter. We tolerated you childish behaviour for long enough. You need to stop acting like a little brat and start doing more for this family.” Peter wonders who the ‘we’ exactly is since all the other members of his family left at sign of their confrontation and overall do not seem to be interested in Peter’s personal life at all. Sooner than he manages to ask, his uncle continues. “You should start serving the Forsaken in a more traditional way.  Let’s start with getting you married.”

“Okay.”

“Someone else than that man again. Obviously.”

“What is more lonely that loveless and childless marriage? The pointlessness of it sounds like something worthy of the Forsaken. Not to mention the loneliness of being freshly divorced.” Of course there is also the mild enjoyment of being freshly married but that’s only natural. Where would the sweet pain of split up come from if there was not a sparkle of bliss first?

“Learn your place and do your job,” Nathaniel threatens, quite aggravated but so is Peter. This conversation is focused way too much on his life and goes on for way too long. He is tired of it. He is tired of his family telling him what to do with his life. He is tired of his family telling him how to serve Lonely. He is tired of his family telling him what he can and cannot do!

“No. I know my place and I am doing my job just fine. The Forsaken does not seem to have any problem with the way I serve it nor any of my personal relationships. That is all that matters is it not?”

Nathaniel is taken back. He is not used to anyone undermining his authority. Everyone rather agrees than to argue and prolong their talking and Peter would love to do the same. Unfortunately, actions suggested by Nathaniel sound like more trouble than talking to him some more. Because no. He does not want to settle down with a wife he despises and kids he does not care about.

“Now leave me alone.”

He has been planning to return back on Tundra right after the funeral. After this exhausting interaction he could really use some time in the Lonely. With such a lovely time awaiting it would be very silly of him to head to London instead, making a short stop by Magnus institute, would it not? On the other hand what is more deliciously lonely then disappointing your family…

He should probably make one more stop at the jewellery store. Does Forsaken demand miserable marriage from him? Very well he can just choose evil he already knows and just marry James Elias Jonah again! He hopes Nathaniel will not mind too much receiving a new wedding invitation so soon after the last one.

Divorce Number What?

Day 1 - Divorce

Another day and another divorce papers signed. It hardly means anything anymore. If it ever really mattered…

Read on AO3

When Peter enters the institute Elias knows he has about five minutes before his husband arrives in his office. Of course if Peter took turn right he would only have to take one set of stairs and he would be right in front of his office. However Peter never takes the right turn. He claims it to be because of the unnerving look of the painting of Jonah Magnus hanging right next to the stairs. Elias would be offended but he must admit that the painter really gave the picture a somewhat menacing look. Which might or might not be the reason why he lets it to be one of the first paintings being seen upon entering his institute.

Alas this silly behavior always means Peter gets lost immediately and ends up in variety of places which are not his office – everything from the library, research department to artifact storage or occasionally even archives.

At least it gives Elias enough time to prepare for his arrival. He has been in the middle of his lunch break so he has no real work to busy himself with but Peter can hardly tell difference whether he is going over the budgets or just staring at a blank excel page.

Five minutes and forty three seconds later Elias hears steps approaching his office and a bit of fog sneaking into corners of the room. He turns his eyes (at least the pair he has currently in his head) to his monitor, away from the doors. Just in time for the doors to be barged through.

“Elias! Divorce! Now!”

“Why, happy afternoon to you too, husband dear,” Elias starts to click random keys pretending he is writing something, “What brings you to my institute at this hour?”

“I just said it.”

“No, Peter, you just chanted three random words. Use a full sentence if you wish to tell me something.”

His husband looks like he is considering grabbing him by the neck and rather than with divorce ending their marriage with ‘till death do us apart’. In the end he does as what he has been asked for as he always does.

“I want a divorce.” Elias looks up at him with his best expression of shock.

“May I inquire why?”

“You know goddamn well why!”

For a fact Elias does not know. It could have been a number of things. Peter might have discovered some of the hidden eye imaginary he carved on Tundra. Or maybe he stumbled on some of his old correspondence containing few words exchanged with few of Peter’s ancestors which seems to be still a bit sensitive topic to him for some reason. Or it also could be about forcing him to attend whole two social events this year so far. Or maybe he simply feels they were married for too long.

“You’ve donated money in my name to a cause of saving… some fish!”

Ah. This thing. Elias would almost forget he has done that.

“Ah yes the rescue fund for Atlantic Halibut. Fascinating fish indeed. Do you wish to know more about it?”

“NO!” Peter slams his hands on the table and leans closer. Elias does not show any signs of being bothered by it. “Why did you do that?”

“You are all about stopping extinction aren’t you? Every little thing counts…”

“They send me a letter of gratitude Elias. They said they put my name on top of the list of donors on their page… whatever that means!”

“It could have been worse. I passed the opportunity to let them name a fish after you…”

Elias,” Peter lower his voice to dangerous level and very well then. He might indulge him then. He takes a key out of an inner pocked of his suit and unlocks the middle drawer of his desk. It is full of pre-filled divorce papers. He takes one set of them out.

“I see something about my actions seemingly upset you. If you are certain you do not want to discuss it and save our marriage-…”

“I am very sure!” Pater grabs the papers out of Elias’ hand, steals one pen out of his pen jar and makes few unreadable scratches which are probably supposed to be his signature. “And also make them put my name down! Wherever it is!” Elias probably won’t bother knowing how vague Peter’s understanding of internet even is. He takes papers away from him.

“Don’t you want to read them?”

“It is not the first time I am holding divorce papers in my hand Elias.”

“And yet you have never read what all does it say.” Elias points out as he is adding his much more elegant signature next to his soon-to-be-ex-husband’s. Peter does not seem to be interested in prolonging their interaction in any way. He takes off his wedding ring and turns his back at him; disappearing into the Lonely without a word of farewell or a goodbye kiss.

“Enjoy a single life them,” Elias calls after him, “or at least the illusion of it…” he adds with a more quiet voice. He takes freshly sign ‘divorce’ papers, carefully folds them and throws them into a bin next to his table.

Elias picks up Peter’s ring and takes of his own as well. He takes stash of his fake divorce papers revealing a little box and marriage certificates under them. As soon as rings are safely closed in the box and hidden under fake documentations he locks the drawer again.

He sometimes wonders if Peter is really that much out of reality to think one scribble on a paper is all required for process of getting legally divorced or if he is in on the joke their divorces actually are. Not that it changes anything…

They got married in 1997 and have stayed ever since. Only three more years and it will be twentieth anniversary. How lovely! And he is not even counting the wedding they had when he was still James…

Elias does not really care about their marital status. One could easily read more romantic reason behind it but he is just being pragmatic. After all he managed to get Lukas tied to him like this. He can amuse him with little game on marriage and divorce but he is not that naive as to let him go legally. It would be too complicated and overall not worth at all. What is the point to go through the whole legal process when Peter will propose again in matter of months?

Plus… what if he one day decides not to? Elias is realistic. Sooner or later Peter gets bored of the game and tries to let him go as a good servant of Forsaken. That day will come, he has dealt with enough of the Lonely avatars during his long lifetime to know what to expect. And in such a moment nothing will bring Elias more joy than to inform Peter in that moment they are still tied together by law.

So it is just him being practical. Realistic. In inevitable case of their last divorce he wants to be the one to have the last word! That is all…

Martin: What will you give to Elias to your wedding anniversary?

Peter: I don’t know. We’ve never been married a whole year before.

Some body reblogged post about how we deserve to be apologist of characters who killed people and ruined everything and tagged it as “Jon Sims”.

And I’m here like… NO?!

This post is for villain apologists. Its for Jonah Magnus stans. Why… Why would you think this post applies to Jon…??

I find interesting the idea that every action Jonah had ever done was motivated either by establishing his place in society and gaining influence or getting closer to finishing the ritual. He crafted a perfect persona and he is always in character - always working towards his goal.

He can rest and have fun when he is done. Till then fun is just waste of time and even during activities that are deemed enjoyable he refuse to relax and not letting his guard down.

And it is all fine by him. He is used to it. He does not find it stressful it has always been his reality.

But if someone asked what he enjoys doing or what activity brakes him happy he would struggle to answer because why would that be important?

You know how people worry sometimes that everyone secretly hates them? Do you think that avatars of the Lonely worry that someone secretly likes them…?

Does Jonah celebrate only the birthday of his current body? Does he celebrate only the birthday of his original body? Does he celebrate every birthday of all the bodies he took over? Does he even bother to celebrate?

No matter answers on those questions Elias likes to completely randomly inform Peter that he has birthday tomorrow. Sometimes he even does it two or three times a year because of Peter’s bad sense of time in the Lonely.

Peter wants to argue sometimes because Elias’ birthday cannot be in November he remembers them celebrating in June. However it would mean admitting to know something about him so he usually just goes with it and buys him a cake.

Maybe the whole lonelyeyes relationship started because Peter could not figure out better way to make Elias to finally shut up than to kiss him?

I like the headcannon that Jonah has never fully gotten used to how far has medicine improved and he absolutely panics at the smallest sign of sickness. I would believe he body skipped few years sooner than he planned just because his current body caught a cold and he did not want to risk anything.

What if Peter started inviting Elias to restaurants so he can order food for him because he hates talking to staff but Elias assumed Peter is courting him. When Peter realised Elias misinterpreted his intentions Elias had already started planning the wedding and it was just too awkward to explain the whole misunderstanding at that point.

Would Elias consider wedding planning pointless distraction he pays little to no attention or would he insist on doing it all himself to his image of perfection?

Would he make sure everything was glamorous and excessive for the first time Peter and he got married and each new wedding is getting more simple?

Or would he start simple but he would try to make every new ceremony original and unique somehow?

Og Elias is such a malewife. Jonalias on the other hand? Total girlboss.

I like jealous Barnabas headcannon. He deserves to be obsessively jealous about his dear Jonah. I think he actually didn’t have any other close relantionship but Jonah because he was afraid they will steal him away. Also I like the idea Barnabas’ willing to do complicated schemes to prevent Jonah from spending time with anyone but him.

“Ooops I’m so sorry my dear the handle fell of I guess we will be trapped in this room for a while and you’ll sadly miss that important meeting with Robert.”

“Oh no, I spilled wine on your shirt. You cannot go out like that! What if instead of visiting doctor Fanshawe you went shopping with me I’ll buy you a new one.”

“I’ve heard Klempthorne feels a little bit sick. You wouldn’t want to risk falling ill right Jonah? Let me just send him message you won’t make it.”

“When you look at the mirror do you see who you really are or just someone you’re pretending to be?”

I just realized I have quite a few photos of my Elias cosplay I haven’t shared yet… Behold the eyeconic mirror which definitely belongs to me and not to my partner. 👁️

Elias once tried to forbid Peter from attending their own wedding because his clothes were against dress code.

Since then Peter is doing his best to wear the worst atrocities he owns to the ceremony in a hope Elias will send him away again…
