is it this part? i’m not 100% certain this was referring to jon and martin, though it could have been; rosie does mention that elias gets no visitors anymore, but the “mr bouchard” vs “mr magnus” switch (as pointed out by @sazandorable) might indicate this was earlier in the timeline than jon and martin’s current visit, which is frankly hard to tell bc of how much this statement skips around in time
yeah this is what I was referring to, you are right that it MAY not be Jon and Martin ESPECIALLY with how it jumps around. I didn’t even catch the Mr Magnus/ Mr Bouchard bit here. Her saying it though definitely felt very intentional, and if it wasn’t Jon and Martin it makes me wonder who it could be and why that’s important.
no no don’t worry, it’s not discourse! i’m actually 50/50 on this; i don’t think there’s a way to know for sure yet, but it would honestly be a lot more exciting imo if it’s established that martin isn’t human either, and a lot of canon seems to point to that being the case.
if i may overthink things also: rosie referring to martin as jon’s “associate” andnot his “assistant” or any subordinate, seems to imply that jon and martin are on equal footing, just cut from a different cloth. so it may very well be that whatever shit jon is in with regards to the apocalypse, martin is in it just as deep.
I think it is quite safe to asume that she must have been talking about Jon and Martin for three reasons.
1. The first one: it is implied thorugh out the fifth season that the avatars of the domains are trapped there as much as their victims. Sure they rule them but they cannot leave to for example drop by to greet their friend Jonah Magnus. The one example I was able to find was in the mag 184.
There are exception like Distortion which can still bend reality and possibly some Hunt avatars (or was it just Daisy’s and Bassira’s case?)
2. More importantly the second one: I don’t think that to the temple of the Eye would be able to enter anyone else than avatars of the Eye? I don’t think the archivists would let pass through anyone else than another servant of the Eye or possibly anyone else than another archivist. Possibly Melanie and Georgie mind be able to get through of course but they never tried. So I don’t think anyone else could get so close to the Pupil of the Eye so easily.
3. Third one more as an afterthought: It was stated in mag 185 that they are both avatars and by others percieved as one of them even though of course Martin is a bit overshadowed by the Archivist himself. It’s only undertandable that due to her connection to the Eye Rosie would be ble to see that as well.
So yeah, just adding my thoughts on this.

Also I don’t think that how she reffers to Jonah|Elias is that importnat. I think that she might be reffering to him as Mr Magnus only out loud but since she is more used to that she refers to him as Mr Bouchard in her statement?
