I think that Peter enjoys playing a good husband but makes sure that all his gestures have some twist Elias will hate.

• He brings him coffee to the bed in the morning but he puts there awful amount of sugar and acts suprise when Elias tells him he still doesn’t like sugar his coffee.
• He sends him flowers but makes sure it’s that one kind Elias is allergic to.
• He buys him a new expensive wrist watch but they happen to be too big for Elias’ wrist.
• He gives him first edition written by someone Elias used to hate and had some big disagreement when he was still Jonah.

Elias secretly finds it almost sweet and funny because it all only shows how well must Peter know him to be able to show affection in the most inconvenient way.
