TMA OC TIME!!!

Miriam Dean stopped aging somewhere in the mid-80’s, but she doesn’t really remember who she was before. She just sort of woke up at the bottom of the ocean, in the cold and the dark and crushing pressure, the empty void all around her. She spent years drifting under there, letting the faint wisps of her past life’s memory waft away in the currents. A decade later she surfaced into an unfamiliar world. The sun was too bright. The dry world was too small compared to her huge, dark undersea fissure. And she was *hungry*.

She spends most of her time in her monstrous Vast Avatar form, trolling the ocean for victims. Giving people who are afraid of deep water something to fear. Giving divers a taste of the depths they wanted to explore so badly.

But on land, Miriam is a shy, retiring personality. It’s easy to fluster her. She has a stammer and has a hard time standing up for herself against people like the Fairchilds, who look down on her for her embodying an impure aspect of the Vast, which sits too closely to their enemy, the Buried

(Because seriously. What is the deep ocean but a secret rendezvous for the Vast and the Buried to make out sloppy style?)

Lucky for her, she’s got Evie!! 😃 Who does not know or care what a social norm is!
