I am so weak for the ‘Jon looking for comfort in Elias bc everyone else thinks he is a monster’ trope.
“Elias, am I still human?”
“Oh Jon… You are so much more. Can’t you see?”
Additional points for Elias adoring Jon like a God. Looking at him as if he were a miracle. Taking pride in Jon developing new powers.
Elias letting Jon use compulsion on him. Elias feeding Jon his own statement from the past.
Jon getting accustomed to the fact that Elias is always watching. It starts to bring him peace. It shifts from being watched to being watched over. Protected, under care.
“I will be watching.” Said Elias with a smile.
“I know,” Jon answered gratefully.
And Jon sees him. For the first time, he truly sees Elias. He sees Jonah Magnus. He sees his flaws, anxieties, dreams, nightmares, and fears. He sees his devotion and determination. He sees himself through Elias’ eyes, and it’s so different from how he perceives himself.
And he takes it all in, accepts it all in, and through that accepts himself as he is.
Blind Elias Bouchard headcanons (ft. Jon Sims, Peter Lukas, and Martin Blackwood)
Or, how to torment Elias even more than before
(bit of JonElias, Lonelyeyes, and Jmart)
he got blinded (by Melanie, by Jon, by Martin, by any other avatar, it does not matter - although if it’s Jon, it gains new favours )
he lost connection to the eye; therefore, he can’t lead his Institute anymore (Jon became the Head of the Magnus Institute, and oh, he struggles )
The first thing that hits him is overpowering panic and the realization that he is going to die; his eyes are damaged, so he can’t jump bodies
depression, grief, anxiety follows, and team up with disorientation, desperation, and chronic pain
Peter, back from the Tundra, finds him in their shared apartment, and he takes care of him in the only way he knows how by taking him into the Lonely
Elias slowly fades, he hardly remembers his name, he remembers that he knew a man named Peter Lukas once, but nothing more, he remembers the thrill of being a pupil of the eye, but just the feeling, not the whole situation
Jon is doing his best, but it’s hardly enough. Without Tim and Sasha, it’s challenging; he keeps remembering them and Martin…
They grew apart with Martin since Jon took Elias’ position. Martin got closer to the Lonely, and Jon got closer to the Eye
So Jon turns to the only person who can help him - Elias
but Elias is hard to find now, covered in a thick fog of the Lonely, hidden by Peter Lukas
Jon hires two new assistants, and he immediately sees an Archivist potential in one of them ( he quickly cut him off, trying not to encourage him, doing everything to stop him from becoming another Archivist ) - he failed, failed terribly bc the space that he gave was everything that was needed for a new Archivist to rise
Supplemental!
After Jon found him, Elias works along with him, and a new Archivist is arising. One day, he (new Archivist) gets back to the Institute marked by one of the entities, and he is delirious. Elias quickly kneels next to him to help, and Jon just freezes. And one terrifying thought appears in his head.
Maybe it will be better to kill him now.
And bc Elias spends his time in the Institute mostly, Beholding found a way to him, and he sometimes can hear or know. And he picked up Jon’s thought. And his first instinct was to fight, but he quickly realized.
Jon is far more powerful now. More powerful than him.
Jon is the head of the Institute. It’s his decision to make.
Jon sighed, irritated, and looked at Elias, who slowly poured himself a glass of whisky.
“Why?”
Elias’s hand shook suddenly, and he almost dropped a bottle. He blinked, swallowed, and bit his lip, slowly putting the bottle down. It was expensive after all. He turned around, composing himself, and smiled at Jon.
“Don’t worry, Jon. I am sure the situation will resolve itself shortly.”
Jon sighed in frustration, not realizing what he had done.
2.
“You are acting odd, Elias. Why? What am I doing?” Jon demanded, and Elias sighed, tilting his head back. Pleasant. Tempting. But he waited, breathed through compulsion, and exhaled slowly. Long enough for Jon to know that he is answering of his own volition. Elias picked up the pen and smiled.
“Complusion. It’s one of the… perks of this job. Forces people to tell the truth. But you are not quiet there yet, Jon.”
Jon eyed him carefully.
“Not quite there yet,” he repeated, watching Elias, and Elias almost shivered.
3.
“Why?” Jon slowly sat down across Elias.
Elias let the compulsion spread over his body. It was dreadful, it was crushing, it was exquisite. He opened his mouth, and the Archivist was staring at him, eyes wide open. And the compulsion whispered so sweetly, and it was so very tempting. Elias exhaled quietly, shaking off the compulsion with little trouble.
“You should rest, Jon.”
The Archivist hummed, displeased, and turned his gaze to the well. Elias swallowed disappointment.
4.
“Why?”
Elias shivered and drew a breath, trying to compose himself.
“Jo..n. Mh…” The compulsion crept under his skin, sinking its claws into Elias’ mind. It traveled up his spine, making him arch his back. He exhaled and leaned on the wall, blinking rapidly.
“Why?” the Archivist pressed, and Elias almost gave up. Almost. He did not manage to bite back a moan. Jon frowned, taken aback, and the compulsion fell, leaving Elias panting against a wall, and leaving his Archivist utterly shocked and disgusted.
Elias chuckled under his breath and slowly fixed his hair that fell over his face. He sighed, amused when Jon left without another word.
5.
Elias always took his break at 2 pm. Today was not an exception. He sighed and leaned back in his chair, and for just a few seconds, he closed his eyes.
Jon opened the door suddenly and stormed into his office.
“Why?” He asked, and Elias opened his eyes, for the first time in his long life, taken by surprise. His mouth opened, and his eyes almost rolled back. He grabbed his chair, taking a deep breath, words stuck in his throat. Jon saw pure shock on Elias’ face and waited, staring at him.
Elias shivered and forced his mouth shut, fighting with a wave of overpowering need to speak, to tell, to be known.
“Not quite there yet, Jon.” He finally said, smiling tightly. The compulsion died, and Jon huffed, frustrated, and left the office. Elias breathed out, grabbing his tie and yanking it off.
Not quite yet there, but dangerously close.
+1
The moment Elias saw Jon’s eyes, he knew he wouldn’t be able to resist. He froze and took a step back.
“Jon…”
The Archivist smiled knowingly. Elias’ back hit the wall, and he took a shaky breath, bracing himself.
“Maybe we can talk it out?”
“Time for explanations has ended.” The Archivist stated. It was final, and Elias’ legs almost gave out under him. Almost.
“Jonah Magnus.” The Archivist said slowly, deliberately taking a step towards Elias, and Jonah shivered in anticipation. The feeling of being seen and known washed over him as he tried to protest once more.
“Kneel.” The Archivist ordered.
Jonah gasped and fell on his knees, crushed with a wave of compulsion.
More EyeTrauma! For all of the zero people who requested it, I love each and every one of you dearly. 👁️🫶
This piece depicts an attempted telling off, and Elias being willfully ignorant to the concept of personal space.

This is a pose I made a while ago and finally got around to doing something with. I’m also trying to get better at sketching and being okay with less than perfect results.
AU Where there is Jon as fully developed Archivist and his ex-boyfriend Martin is fully developed Lonely avatar.
And one day Jon and Martin form other universe appeared and they are so sickly in love with each other.
And Lonely Martin and Archivist Jon are SO bitter about it. Like they would look at Martin and Jon comforting each other or just trying to figure everything out in a new place and they would be like:
“Disgusting. Can you imagine?”
Only that they can both imagine it very well. Bc they used to be like that too. And it hurts so deeply.
Every letter to Jonah Magnus: My dearest Jonah, I’m breaking up with you. Stop fretonizing with terrible powers beyond our comprehensions, you stupid whore.
I can’t stop thinking about that post about Jon and Elias licking each others eyeballs as foreplay (in reference to an article saying young Japanese couples were doing that irl and should stop) and their form would be different when they licked the others eyeball… Jon’s softer, velvetier, and droolier while Elias is more forceful and kinda flexes his tongue so he can lap properly by the way
Blind Elias headcanons (just some ideas i guess) part 2 (ft. Peter Lukas) part 1 here
Peter moves in
Elias knows his own apartment, of course, he knows it; there was never a wall here, and that table was surely in another room, and why did he suddenly trip on everything?
_____________________
“Elias, I can help you.”
“I don’t need your help, Peter,” Elias hissed.
_______________________
Peter cooks, Elias pretends he does not notice,
Sometimes Peter stays silent for a few hours and watches Elias. Without the eye, Elias can’t know that Peter is still here. For most of the time, Elias just spitefully pretends that he doesn’t care. Peter still feeds on him.
___________________
Elias sat down slowly on the couch; the whole apartment was quiet and empty…
“Peter… Peter, please not today.” He whispered, but Peter didn’t move. Elias drew his legs to his chest slowly, and fog curled around him. “Fuck you. You and your fog. I can feel you, you asshole.”
Peter swallowed and sat down next to him.
“I hate you.” Elias hissed.

Peter can spend time with Elias since Elias can’t perceive him in the way he did before ______________________ “Say something,” Elias said quietly, pressing into Peter’s chest. Lukas sighed and looked around. He picked up a book and started reading. _____________________
Elias starts to enjoy the fog. _____________________
“Elias, I have to leave.”
“But…”
“I’m drawing you into the Lonely. I can’t let that happen.”
“Why..?”
“I don’t want it for you. You are not a creature of fog. You never were. ”
“Because you say so?”
“Because you will never feel a need to meet me again if you accept this!”
Jon sighed, massaging his temples. The tape recorder clicked and fell silent. That statement felt dry, almost as if Jon was chewing sand. He scowled to himself. He needed something real, something…
“Jon.” Martin smiled, “I will make tea. Do you want one?”
“Ah.. no. No, thank you, Martin. I.. I will take a break.” Jon decided and stood up. “I think I need some air.”
“Oh… Right. Right. Was it a bad one? Statement, I mean?”
Jon opened his mouth and then nodded only as he was leaving the room.
It was not bad enough.
The next thing he remembers was sitting across from a young woman who was crying hysterically.
“Please, please stop.”
Jon flinched and quickly got up, leaving the café. He ran back into the Archives and closed the door behind him, breathing heavily.
“J-jon… Are… Are you alright? "Martin blinked.
"Yes.. I… I didn’t want to be late,” he said. Martin chuckled and shook his head. Jon smiled tightly, “I should have eh… Slow down.”
“Archives are not going to run, Jon.”
Jon nodded again, and he suddenly turned around, knowing that the door would open. After a second, he was met with Elias’ pleased smile.
“Hello, Jon. You had a fulfilling walk? ”
Jon scowled at him and closed the door with a loud thump that made Martin jump.
Elias Bouchard’s Observations of the Archivist’s Progress
day 23
I told the Archivist to get a follow-up statement from Sharon Menon. He began asking questions like “Who’s Sharon Menon?” and “How do I contact her?”
We have a long way to go, but these are hurdles we will overcome.
day 157
I sent the Archivist to buy more stationary from Monde du Papier, a store he’s never heard of in a neighborhood he’s never been to.
He managed to navigate there successfully, but paused frequently as if unsure of himself.
day 202
At the start of our quarterly meeting, I asked in Swedish for the Archivist to retrieve my Montblanc pen from my office. I intentionally left it in the bottom drawer rather than in the cup on the desk.
The Archivist returned in four minute with the pen.
postscript: Upon his return, Mr. Blackwood asked him what language I spoke in, to which he appeared confused.
For someone who has made such progress in Knowing, he seems to remain rather unaware.
I see your “Elias Bouchard, husband of Peter Lukas, is homophobic and hoards gay rights” and I raise you:
he’s a real asshole in a way that comes across as homophobic but is really just him being petty and judgmental.
I will set the scene.
In a nebulous universe that does not exist in canon, Jon and Martin are leaving work to go on a date. They run into Elias on their way out the door.
In this scenario, they have changed into Date Clothes at work because I am too tired to concoct something more realistic.
“Oh dear,” Elias says in a Tone. He looks both of them up and down. His face says that he has just smelled something particularly unpleasant. His eyes linger on their hands, which are clasped together between them.
Jon bristles like a startled porcupine. Martin shifts from foot to foot nervously. They had not expected this. Their ‘Welcome To The Magnus Institute, A Reputable Academic Institution That Does Not Exist To Feed A Preternatural Fear Entity!’ brochures that they had received upon being hired had said that the institute’s company culture was very accepting of members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Elias is still watching them. His posture is impeccable. Jon finds himself standing up straighter. He resents Elias and his dismissal of Jon’s request for ergonomic chairs. Perhaps he had denied it because he realized that Jon and Martin were dating.
“Hmm,” Elias says. He is smiling blandly, as if pained. “That’s certainly a choice.”
“What is,” Jon says, daring him to answer. He may be small but he is not above violence for a good cause; not unlike a badger. Martin finds this endearing.
“This,” Elias says, as if the answer is painfully obvious. He gestures with his hand, flicking it back and forth between Jon and Martin. His face is scrunched up like he had just taken a bite of bad sushi. Martin stares and his hand and notes that his nails had been painted; black with little green eyes on each one, meticulously drawn on by hand.
Jon steps in front of Martin protectively. He might be growling a little bit; he needs to watch how much time he is spending with Daisy. “I beg your pardon?” Jon says challengingly.
“Well,” Elias simpers, examining his cuticles. “You could both clearly do better.”
“Sorry, what?” Martin squawks indignantly.
He is perplexed. Jon is fuming. Elias seems none the wiser.
Martin cannot believe the gall of some people, to be so blatantly bigoted and hateful out in the open.
“Yes, that sweater with those shoes, Martin, they clash horribly, I’m afraid,” Elias continues. His mouth twitched downward, disproving. “And Jon. I understand you’ve been under a lot of stress lately, but they do make clothes in your size. You don’t have to wear everything four sizes too large.”
“What,” Jon says.
“You don’t like our clothes?” Martin asks. He is very confused, which, while not uncommon, is unpleasant.
“That’s a bit of an understatement,” Elias says. He looks down his nose at them. His earring gleams in the fluorescent light that had been strategically placed to give Dave from accounting frequent migraines. Elias prefers to do the budgeting himself.
“Oh,” Martin says. He holds Jon’s hand tighter. “I thought you were homophobic.”
Elias rolls his eyes. “Perish the thought.”
At this moment, Peter Lukas materializes out of a cloud of Loneliness Fog™ and kisses Elias on the cheek. He is wearing the same thing he has worn every other time Martin and Jon have seen him: a nondescript Captain’s uniform and a sailor’s hat. (They do not know that he has changed his socks, as they cannot see them; Elias can. These have anchor patterns in blue and white with the words “it’s the sea for me” in cursive along the fronts of the toes. Elias thinks they’re charming.)
“Ready to go, dear?” Peter asks.
Elias smiles. “Of course.”
“What,” Jon says.
“It’s our anniversary tonight!” Peter says cheerfully.
“Oh,” Martin says. “Um. Congratulations? How long have you been… married?”
“Divorced,” Elias corrects, staring into Peter’s eyes with a loving smile. “Three months now, is it?”
“Yep! And counting!” Peter says. “I don’t have to see him for seven weeks after this!”
“Oh,” Martin squeaks.
“Yes, and we better be going lest we miss our reservation,” Elias says. “Jon, Martin, do take what I said to heart.” He looks over at Peter like he had found a very sad looking box of kittens that he’d like him to look at with pity with him. “They’re going on a date.”
Peter wrinkles his nose. “Wearing that?”
“Alright,” Jon says angrily, “We’ll be going now. Martin?”
He tugs Martin towards the door. Martin is quite unmovable until he realizes he his meant to be following.
“Right! Um. Happy… divorce? See you later,” he says. He and Jon escape while they can in hopes of greener pastures.
Peter and Elias watch them leave.
“What an odd pair,” Peter says.
“You’re telling me,” Elias sighs. “Dinner?”
“Thought you’d never ask.” Peter leads him out the door.
Friendly reminder that Another Love by Tom Odell exists and it’s in fact a perfect the Lonely song. And it is also (on some level) a perfect Lonelyeyes song if you would ask me.
Okay everyone, so, I wouldn’t usually share this stage in my process (I won’t even lie, it is due to a lack of faith in my artistic ability) BUT, I am happy with how this one is coming along, and it has enough form at this point that you can see the idea.
Here is THE VERY BEGINNING of the ‘EyeTrauma Hades and Persephone AU’ art piece that I have been meaning to get around to for a bit now.
(Yes, the pomegranate seeds will be horrible clusters of eyes, thank you for asking. 👁️🫶)
