the murder club statement rules because the statement giver has almost no idea that there’s anything weird about what she and her friends are doing. she only came to the institute because after a few days of murdering she had the passing thought “now–and I know this sounds crazy–what if there was something supernatural about all of us simultaneously deciding to hunt each other for sport?” she talks about her enjoyment of true crime as if it were more outlandish than murder club 2.0’s current project. good for her, I hope she had a nice time.
its so funny cause like…the hunt didnt even eat well there. i dont think any of them were even really that scared, they were just really into murdering each other.
a sweet sweet five seconds of feeding as the murder clubbers realize “oh I’m about to be stabbed”
I always interpreted that statement as a slaughter statement more than a hunt one despite the obvious aspects of hunting, it felt like it was more about the fact that it was senseless and the fact they weren’t particularly scared is to me an indication it’s slaughter
I think the hunt and the slaughter were definitely collaborating on it, the statement giver mentions tapping her feet to inaudible music and that’s very slaughter to me imo, but I think if it were fully slaughter then they wouldn’t have kept it to just club members, they would have gone after random people for more senseless violence. there’s also the fact that the winner just stopped caring after she killed her last friend; suddenly losing zest after the chase is finished is much more hunt than slaughter.
