common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about: jonah magnus being from the 1800’s actually doesn’t imply anything about him except his age and maybe the fact that he was born during the industrial revolution.

the biggest proof of jane/jonah i can give is the fact that jonah just. let her roam free in the institute like that. “so she could mark jon” yeah yeah whatever but he constantly describes the institute as an extension of himself. he describes himself as the beating heart of the institute. this is the heart freely allowing an infection inside the body. maybe the heart secretly wants the infection to reach it. maybe the heart is in love with the infection

i think i just desperately need fics that call out jonah’s love for his own villain aesthetic. he’s very subtle with it, but he canonically loves monologuing. he practised that villain laugh in mag 159, and for what? for himself. as a little treat.

god how do i explain this. elias bouchard with a mullet. so short it barely counts but what im saying is you can see his hair under his ears. kind of curly, mostly wavy. think like younger kurtis conner’s hair, but very light brown, kind of golden in color. outgrown in s4 because he’s in gay baby jail, completely out of control in s5 to the point it’s not even a mullet it’s just long hair that’s slightly shorter at the front.

i’m unwell in the head and my thoughts are often known to be incomprehensible and incorrect but the “keep smoking, i love you” section of both songs has an inherently different vibe in my mind.
the 2018 version is pure heartbreak. it’s watching someone you love slowly destroy themself, but you know you can’t stop them. “keep smoking, i still love you. but i don’t wanna die.” the love was always there, and it will never leave fully, but you have to put yourself (or everyone else) first just this once.
the 2011 version is more of a memory. an echo of something you already lost, but you have to keep going. it puts the emphasis even more on “i don’t wanna die, i don’t wanna die, i don’t wanna die”; i still love you, but i don’t want to follow you into death. the harm you cause yourself or others can never stop the love that exists, because love isn’t morally pure, it’s just something that happens.
