tma s5 except helen somehow stops being the distortion out of nowhere and now she’s just some scared confused lesbian. sopping wet cat of a girl whose only life experience is being a middle class real estate agent. how will she ever make it in this world, you ask. well i heard a rumor that there’s a hot new apocalypse cult around,
if you’re stuck inside the apocalypse, she’s stuck inside the apocalypse. put her in your cult.
added conflict if some of the cult members are former spiral domain victims. obviously they don’t trust her or want her around. and how could she ever prove that she wasn’t just lying, i mean, lying is the spiral’s whole thing, this could just be another trick. but then melanie touches her hand is like “you feel human.” because she knows what the distortion’s hands feel like, and it’s not this.
georgie can’t stand the idea of just leaving her to fend for herself, for whatever reason. she’s fearless, but she doesn’t even need to be in order to know that helen richardson is not something to be afraid of, not after the spiral spat her out. and, like, fuck it, why not?
it takes a long time for a good majority of the other cult members to start trusting helen. after a while, they come up with this game where they tell her about different fear domains, and challenge her to try and ‘sell’ those fear domains to them as real estate.
it was at that moment, watching helen joke about how a desolation domain has “excellent central heating” to a fellow cult member, that georgie and melanie had a collective “i need her” moment.
