anybody else constantly thinking about how the three main eye avatars sort of represent three equally fucked up parts of humanity.

jonathan sims. self-sacrificing. the part of humanity that seeks to connect and understand, but also to save others at its own expense. it believes that the way for it to help others is not by actually helping them, but rather by destroying itself.

gertrude robinson. self-righteous. almost machiavellian in its belief that it has the right to do anything it needs to in order to acheive its goal, because it believes its doing the right thing. it thinks that it’s saving the world, so of course the ends justify the means.

jonah magnus. self-preserving. when faced with its own mortality, it seeks out something to believe in. something to devote itself to. misguided worship, hubris, the fear of death, the need to sever itself from its mortality. and, in the process, sever itself from its humanity.
