I realise that the reason I like making fanart for niche media the most is because there’s just a lot more to work with.

“Mid” media that isn’t polished is great for writing practice, for example. “Underrated” media calls for artists to show off what they like about it..

And smaller fandoms mean that there’s a lot more attention paid to whatever its artists create. It doesn’t get buried as much as with well-known franchises and it feels more interactive.

Also, some media is only niche because it speaks to certain communities outside the mainstream. That, too, can people more passionate about it.
