ID: A digital illustration featuring Jonah Magnus and Barnabas Bennett from The Magnus Archives.

The composition consists of three parts arranged vertically.

At the top there’s a backlit silhouette of Jonah Magnus shown from the chest up. He’s face is obscured but his eyes are glowing bright green. He’s looking down at the scene below. Around his head there’s an aureola of stylized, green eyes. In the background there’s a green glow and stylized tendrils of fog.

In the middle scene Barnabas Bennet stands in an empty street. Everything is shrouded in mist and looks washed out. There are some buildings several stories high, a distant church tower, and cobble-stone pavement. The streetlamps give a faint, cold glow but there’s no light in any of the windows. Barnabas turns back to look down the street at a distant carriage. He has curly hair and sideburns and wears dark coat, waistcoat and trousers. There are tendrils of fog curling around him. The scene is framed by an irregular fog-like shape.

An the bottom Jonah sits at his desk. Jonah has graying brown hair, moustache and sideburns. He’s wearing a dark jacket, a white shirt and a cravat. With his left hand he’s holding a skull in front of his face. He’s gently touching the skull with his other hand and frowning slightly. On the desk there’s a worn out letter. END ID.

I created this for the Rusty Quill Winter Exchange. Thank you @pilesofnonsense for hosting the event!
