emily gwen, the creator of the sunset lesbian flag that we’ve come to commonly use, still continues to live in poverty.
multi-billion dollar companies have used their design and made profit from it, and yet they have not seen a cent for their creation.
i’ve been friends with emily for years, and i have not once seen them be financially stable the entire time. i’ve seen them homeless, unemployed, starving. right now, they need our help more than ever.
please consider donating to emily’s ko-fi, especially if you’ve used their design to create something and profited from it.
hiya! was wondering what your feelings were on people referencing your character designs?
and while i’m here love your art!! lineart colours style everything is BEAUTIFUL MWAH! ❤︎
hello anon!! thank you so much, first of all! <3
i don’t mind (i think? it hasn’t happened before ahadjjfjsg i guess it depends on in which manner, maybe?), but if somebody references my designs i would love to be tagged so i can see because that’s really fun and flattering ^^
The man is back. This time, I am on a bench in the park. He is twisting long blades of grass into strange spirals, but his fingers keep cutting through them instead. Is this when we met?
HEY!! goodness gracious your art is so beautiful. I saw your Corruption OC Jennifer Accardi and I'm pretty sure my life is changed forever low-key I'm never going to get over that!!! the colours!!! the shapes!!! the general talent!!! oh man. But related to that drawing, is there a backstory to the character or specific drawing? And if there is please share!! (or don't I'm just an internet stranger)
AHHHHH thank you so so so much oh my god this means the world to me, truly this is so lovely to hear 😭😭😭 <3
she does have a backstory! her history with the corruption goes wayyyy back to her childhood. i don’t have anything fully developed written down (should probably get to work on that… statement style perchance), but she grew up with a hoarder parent and was constantly surrounded with filth and mould and mushrooms and rot. her situation changed eventually (her parent, with an immune system disease, passed away due to mycosis from so much exposure to the mould) and she ended up living with another relative, who, as opposed to jenny’s parent, kept the place squeaky clean but treated her like something dirty. she moved out as soon as she could.
as a result of all of this she always had this sort of obsession-laced interest in mycology, deeply wanting to understand it better. ended up studying it and got so into it and spent so much time on her studies that she gave less and less time to keeping her shitty flat clean — which she didn’t mind, it felt more like home than anything she’d known in a long time. plus the landlord was a real bastard and the place was already nasty and dank. perfect mushroom and mould breeding ground! obviously she was well aware of the dangers to her health and of the fact that this was straight up quite disgusting, but there was a sort of shameful delight in it all.
things got out of hand pretty quickly at this stage (and this is where i run out of details) but the corruption fully had her in its grip! that mould was part of her whether she liked it or not. i’ll work out more details at a later stage, of what specific event it is that fully gives her life and personhood away to the corruption :-p
thank you so much for this ask!! (and i apologise for my messy writing!! i’m better with shapes and colours than with words lol)
