streetlight-halo:

Page 1 of a comic of Gordon Porlock. He's walking into the room that contains Warren Godby's hypersleep pod, and he looks like he's been crying. "Well, Warren, I, uh..." he says, and smiles somewhat forcedly, "found some books. I thought I'd, um, thought I'd read to you." He lowers himself down to lean against the pod with a grimace. "I brought- ack- I brought Dune today!"ALT
Page 2. He sits fully down against the pod, holding the book with one hand. "You seem like you like Dune," he says. Then, "That sounded... weirdly judgemental? Sorry. Have you read it, though?" The next panel is zoomed out. The only sound is a small beeping, and Gordon's expression saddens slightly.ALT
Page 3. He looks to the side. "...Right. Well." There is a sound of pages turning. "Let's start, I guess."ALT
Page 4. The hallway is shown from the outside. Beneath this panel, the page branches out into a broken glass like pattern, containing images of a folder with Warren's name on it, many cassette tapes stacked together, Aubrey Wood in the snow, and the huge mountains around the base. Gordon coughs, sniffs, and sighs, before beginning to read. "Arrakis. Dune."ALT
Page 5. A full-page spread. Gordon sits at the bottom, against Warren's pod, and the background turns into stark red light on many mountains. Snow falls from the top of the page, along with small bubbles and stylized stars. Gordon's last line is written without a speech bubble, in the middle of this void. "Desert planet."ALT

Was thinking about Gordon reading to Warren as he.. sleeps, kind of spiraled
