One of the reasons I found myself so encapsulated by The Magnus Archives is because of the delightful, mundane realism that’s so beautifully entwined with the horrifying, awe-inspiring otherworldly aspects; this is done well in many things, but I’ve never come across a piece of media that’s so effectively conveyed the nightmare of becoming something inhuman whilst being forced to continue your every day life.
