You know its a possibility tim didn’t instantly die after blowing himself up, maybe during the moments before he died he thought about Jon. Maybe in a forlorn, loving way, the way you’d think about your beloved dog that you had to put down because it killed another animal. Maybe he only thought of malice, or failure, or blame. his, or Jon’s Or danny’s or elias’s, someones to blame to him. Maybe it just stopped.
how does tim go from pressing the buttons on his television remote, to pressing the button of a detonator in just a few months?
Literally anything couldve changed the trajectory of Tma, but I think the thing that fucks me up the most, is the fact that I’d argue a lot of the reason Jon even ends up in that precarious place between avatar and human (”how much of you is left”) is because after all that time nobody, not even martin treated him like a human. Jon tried his damnedest to help, and persevere, and he did what humans do to survive, make bad choices. And everyone invalidates that. His needs, like statements, are viewed of that like a dog needing to be taken on a walk. His acknowledgments on his capabilities are never about him, and only the powers, the things he can take and steal and do, and martin pushes him to use the powers and yet is so shocked when Jon is more horrified with himself than when he started.
not to be too real but I feel like no matter how much this fandom takes pain seriously, a lot of us don’t, like at all.
Like Martin and the peaches thing is regularly clowned on, but imagine eating one thing for Days and you think its the last thing you’ll ever eat, you couldn’t even pick your last meal, reduced to a waiting prisoner up for execution in your own home. Yeah I think i’d be pretty turned off peaches too.
And Jon, s5 with his statement breaks, funny yeah blah blah but honestly I could go on for hours about the underlying mistreatment in s5, but everyone and especially the fandom plays off how ever single statement he is feeding the god he’s actively trying to stop and the horror of being unable to stop and slowly having a budding realization that he might be able to fix it all.
Yes they’re just characters and also yes I might low-key be obsessive rn, but I still think it could be talked upon

Ok so ive never been a fan of martin, but I think I don’t like s5 Martin the most. Now I’m sure you could come up with plenty excuses, some more valid than others, but he honestly kind of sucked, like, personality wise.
Martin started most fights, and almost never tried to apologize for them, whereas Jon is genuinely, constantly apologetic. Martin pushed Jon to use his powers a lot during the beginning of the apocalypse. Martin blamed Jon—subtly or unsubtly—when his statements were unhelpful to their cause later on.
And maybe you’ll say, well, Jon was so rude to martin before… well then Martin didn’t need to date him, like I’d be way less peeved if they were just two unfortunate people surviving together, but they aren’t, Martin chooses to be like this despite likely knowing Jon the best
I’d argue if martin had been more genuinely supportive and not just surface level empathetic, Jon would’ve considered mag 200 more. And I’m likely wrong and bias, but still.
im really obsessed with Jonathan sims and I think he needs to suffer more and in fact I think more people need to think on how if you boiled Jon down, he’s not just a wet cat, he’s also a dog. He is fighting for scraps of things he needs and he is seen as intentionally uncooperative for being what he is and needing what he does by everyone during s3 - 4 and like an attack dog, its made pretty clear the only thing he’s good for isn’t being alive, its being useful, and without that basira or Melanie would’ve long since put him down

I think early seasons Jonmartin is the funniest TMA ship to imagine the “only one bed” trope for.
Because Jon would be in full “I can’t sleep next to Martin! He’s suspicious!” mode and end up in some stupid self-inflicted scenario where he was sleeping in the elevator or on the roof.
Then meanwhile Martin would be back in the room going: “Its nice of him to let me have the bed. He can be a lot more considerate than he lets on sometimes.”
”what if martin shanks me in my sleep, can’t risk it” cut to martin, “Golly!!! This guy is so sweet!!! I mean sure he did accuse me of murder yesterday but that’s different”

TIM STOKER SPENT A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF TIME DOING EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AFTER WHAT HAPPENED TO DANNY he managed to get into a literal RESEARCH FACILITY that we know is at least somewhat esteemed and the only reason he didn’t keep persuing at the same level of vigor is because he got comfortable, were Elias to want a backup archivist, it would never be Sasha because she’d know instantly (sorry boys she’s just smarter I fear) but it’d be tim.
