We are excited to announce the launch of #EyeLoveTMA, a fan project three months in the making! Over 130 folks got together to show our love for #MagnusPod through a wide variety of content. The project encompasses an entire, 236 pages book of art, letters and other content, 200 pieces of post-it art, a podcast, two music albums, a fully-functioning website and more! Our copy editor, Egon Vogel, has provided a page of poetry and a longform dark fic to the Magnus Collection. While Egon is primarily an academic researcher, he also has a strong passion for fandom and all the incredible things we can do when we love something strongly and communally. He’s excited to get the books sent out to all these fans and to play a part in the collaborative creative process.

If you’ve missed out on your chance to purchase a physical copy of The Magnus Collection Volume 1, we’ve opened up a second printing of it, again limited to 100 copies in total, and split between 50 standard and 50 deluxe. These are anticipated to arrive to our studio early May, but we caution against delays which may occur as a result of Covid-times affecting transport estimates.

Today we’re sharing the front cover for The Magnus Collection, courtesy of our design editor Jack Cloverway. The print cover is a gorgeous wraparound that spans a fair portion of the face of the Magnus Institute. Look familiar? The Tate Museum (Tate Britain) stands on the location of the former Millbank Prison. Designed by architects like Sidney R. J. Smith with additions by John Russell Pope, we felt this classical style reflected exactly the kind of wealth, severity, and pomp Jonah would imbue into his vision. The back cover includes stylized Goddesses of Fears sprinkled along the roofing ornamentation.
We’re printing just 100 more copies of this volume before we turn our attentions to Volume 2, so if you’d like to pick up a copy, act quickly! The first print run sold out in a day and a half, a fact you can confirm in our breathless live-blogging of events. Don’t want to chance the unkind fates of the shipping services? It’s really difficult to find a fun promo screencap for @marimo-art because everything in this piece is gorgeous, and we don’t want to give all the grandeur away. There are so many fantastic details, all done up in traditional pen and ink, by a real master of the medium.
Marimo says: “Hey folks! I’ve been drawing since I was about three years old and have always loved doing traditional art over all other art types. I listen to music constantly all day, every day but especially when drawing. Spooky stuff has always interested me but I only within the last three years got into listening to TMA and I’ve fallen down the hole of liking horror content more and more.”

There were many details to sort out following Mary’s passing, but the most pressing by far was the mountain of debt we’d accrued for her treatments. I then maxed out credit cards, took out loans, and remortgaged our house before Mary’s health took its final turn. Leedzie is a prolific writer with work appearing in several zines. Though best known for her analyses and humor articles, she has also done extensive work in the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading (American) national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25. I’m so glad you’re as excited as we are to receive the zine. We’ve really been champing at the bit to get them to our studio too!
Shipping times are still uncertain: for our production copy, we were quoted a full week’s wait for arrival, and it took about a week and a half to make its way here. We had tracking for that and for the first print run, and for the production copy, the shipping didn’t actually update with movement until about an hour from its delivery.
Our full production run comes out to 152 lbs of books, so that may delay it further. Additionally, although our printer is based out of Quebec, all shipments route through a shipping centre in London, Ontario, and Ontario is dealing with very strict lockdown procedures right now. We anticipate that’s going to be the lengthiest delay.
The day we receive the books, both Jack and I will be taking off from work and spending the full day packing envelopes and printing shipping labels. Unless otherwise requested, everything will be going through letter post, which has a shipping time comparable to the tracked packages, but is at a much more affordable rate. Jack has a business account with the Canada Post, and we can do a bulk order drop-off at our local distro. If it will take another day to get the packages out, we’ll take another day to do it. Canada Post doesn’t move mail over the weekend, so it’s more expedient to take time off and ensure they get their start on a week-day.
We’ll be taking pictures of the arrival, the sorting, the packing, and the final packets for transparency’s sake.

The Magnus Collection Vol 1 Reprint is at 50% sold. We have 11 copies of the Standard Edition and 38 copies of the Deluxe Edition remaining. Once these are gone, we will not run another print!
We’re delighted to announce that the books are finally on their way to our studio. Canada Post does not ship over the weekend, so we will be using the weekend to package and prepare the shipments, and take Monday (and potentially also Tuesday) to send all packages out.
It appears that the printer held the first printing back until the second printing was finalized before shipping it all out. While this saved us a little money, we had not communicated this request to them. Our team is working on adding a little something onto the orders to make up for this extended shipping delay.
I’m so excited to finalize this volume and begin promotions for our Summer Volume. We’ll be increasing the page count and having some fun new Deluxe perks, so stay tuned for more! And if you’re looking to apply for Volume 2, we’ll be accepting applications until April 30.
