The third in my series of fifteen Fair Isle Tams inspired by the Magnus Archives, one for each of Smirke’s fears!
I’m attaching some detail images to show some of the primary motifs of
the hat! We have the hand-and-closed-eye emblem of The People’s Church
of the Divine Host, the space station Daedalus, and a large
dark star motif covering the top of the hat. I used some Nordic-inspired
motifs in the star to pay tribute to Ny-Ålesund and the long history
of stranded colorwork in traditional Norwegian knitting!
