Is there a reason everyone draws Jon with really long hair? Is it explicitly mentioned in the podcast ? If so, what made you decide otherwise? Would you ever draw male Jon with luscious long locks?
OHOHOHOHO I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT IT FOR SO LONG THANK YOU FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY DEAR ANON
In canon we don’t know a lot about John’s appearance. So we don’t really have an image of how long is his hair. But from information we DO KNOW John looks older than he actually is, is graying prematurely and doesn’t look in best shape. We also know he doesn’t really take good care of himself and I think it’s safe to assume that if his skin was in horrible shape then so was his hair.
I saw a lot of people assume that John grew his hair during his 6 month coma. Which I am extremely opposed to. Mainly that he was clinically dead and also dragged from explosion, so probably his hair got burned off. Furthermore he is still an unhealthy, constantly stressed man in his early 30s so I doubt he is even able to grow his hair past his neck (and if he can it probably looks thin and bad).
So I’m sorry to say to long hair John fans but you probably won’t see him with long luscious locks from me

And there is none, outside of John’s permanently altered perception of Martin
He sees that Martin screwed up a report so he goes to his office to scold him, just to have flashes of sad kitty when Martin looks at him. So he just tells him “good job” and awkwardly leaves…

So since I mentioned it takes place in season 1… I think the image of Elias knowing that it’s Martin is really funny. Also thanks to @coworkerjonathan I am now a firm believer that Elias has cat allergy and wasn’t aware of it, so he is having A SHIT time at the archives now.

“Normally I would find this funny, but Martin you are eating away the Institute’s money.” said Elias, his eyes a little wet. Martin was surprised. He didn’t think, Elias would get this emotional about him.
“I didn’t budget for your extended sick leave.” Elias voice was professional, but Martin didn’t miss Elias letting a tiny sniff slip through the cracks..
He felt something tug at his heart as Elias kept clumsily petting his head.
“So what are we going to do about this? John is on the case, but I don’t think he’s figured it out quite yet.” Unbelievably, a single tear rolled down Elias’ cheek. He didn’t seem to notice. “This might take a few weeks.”
Martin looked at his boss, whose eyes had taken up that reddish hue. Someone cared about him being gone. Someone cared! Cared so much he’d cry about him, even while playing tough. Martin felt almost bad for having misjudged Elias. Thinking about it… Elias HAD been the one who hired him. The only one who had ever put his trust in Martin. Defending him against John’s complains behind closed doors. Elias was the only one who had ever truly seen him.
“We’ll figure something out, Martin. I’m positive that-” Elias strained voice was interrupted by a cough. “Sorry - I think I have something in my throat-”
For the first time Martin was thankful for this body that couldn’t cry. Otherwise he would’ve been sobbing by now.
Elias took a step back, his fingers lingering on Martin’s fur a little longer for a last pet. Martin could see him trying to blink away the tears.
“I’m sorry Martin, I’ll be back I’ll just-” He sniffed again, more heavily. “I’ll just go to the bathroom real quick”.
Martin watched him go. Frozen. Thought he had already been forgotten and now overcome by an emotion he couldn’t quite put into words, but hadn’t felt for many, many years.

I decided to go against the fandom’s idea of him wearing Hawaii shirt, purely because… I don’t really see it tbh
When I imagine office attire that a hot dude would wear I imagine turtleneck sweater and quirky socks. Maybe a generic shirt that is just a bit too unbuttoned to ignore lol
Sadly for now I might be scrapping the design on the right for Tim because it feels too close to my design for John (even if it makes it funny)
