(trying to give relationship advice) from a narrative perspective i think both of you dying together would be the most emotionally satisfying resolution but i’m guessing that’s not what you want to hear
“ruthlessly repressed violent sadist” is already a peak character concept, but “ruthlessly repressed violent sadist who everyone tries to take advantage of” has yet to be beat for me
what if you tried so hard to be good even though you knew it wouldn’t bring you the kind of satisfaction you really crave because you weren’t willing to make anyone else pay the price. what if the people around you wanted to use you and promised you’d be doing the right thing, but you knew better than to believe them. what if you knew that when the time for finding someone to blame came you’d be the first in line because you, sick thing, you took pleasure in it. what if you knew that nobody loves or needs a monster, but everyone wanted the monster anyway, and you couldn’t remember the last time you felt like anyone wanted you at all. what if it had been so long since you felt anything but exhaustion and guilt and a sense that something is going to happen that you won’t be able to come back from, someday, and the only choice you’ll have when it does is whether you set it in motion.
it’s the idea that you can only be a willing participant and even a perpetrator if you take any kind of pleasure in the act at all
Obviously the Spiral is heavily associated with doors. The podcast makes that abundantly clear. But for whatever reason I am also certain that the Spiral lives in every fucked up staircase that’s ever existed
okay actually jm is boring because, unlike what they tell you in the posts, m*rtin is NOT a monsterf*cker/lover. he wants jon to be human unless he wants jon to clock an avatar he personally doesn’t like and has no patience for any weird thing that jon does even if that weird thing is for jon’s survival, he just REJECTS jon’s monster qualities until they suit his needs/wants. whereas the tma world is full of so many REAL monsterf*ckers/lovers/friends, because it DEMANDS a comfort within a certain monstrous morality (never an acceptance of bad as good but an understanding of what people, human or not, will do to survive)…….. m*rtin just comes off as a class-a boring-ass nag who can’t come out of his tiny boring office world to appreciate a glorious monster bf even when said glorious monster bf is BEGGING for acceptance. if you can’t appreciate the monstrous qualities of your monster bf then you don’t deserve him. thank you for coming to my tedtalk, this was the intro and it continues for another 4.8 hours and it has 93 powerpoint slides
