based on alasdair stuart’s stellar post-eyepocalypse peter lukas headcanon where peter survived and just used an umbrella whenever jonah tried looking at him
everyone in s5 talks to jon like he personally intended to end the world when he was just like eating dinner and accidentally set off the nuclear bomb detonator that someone hid under the mashed potatoes. he didnt even know you could do that. Like i know things are tough but give the man a break
tma with jonelias as a central ‘canon’ relationship (but actually not because they would never recognize it as a legit relationship) and unrequited feelings to jon playing into martin’s character arc would hold such power unlike the whole canon jmart thing i swear (may expand on this later when i finish my relisten)
i think it’s important for villain enjoyers to maintain diverse ecosystems inhabited by the villains they will bend over backwards to excuse, the villains whose complexity in backstory and motive they adore without justifying all of their actions, and the villains for whom they go, “haha, yeah, it ruled when they [blew up that populated star system/hexed an infant/physically and psychologically tortured the kind of pathetic protagonist/etc.]”
ok but dostoevsky literally went off when he said “do you know that one day i’ll kill you? i won’t do it because i’m no longer in love with you, or because i’m jealous, but—i’ll just kill you for no better reason that i sometimes long to devour you.”
I need to finish writing and publish a fic so I can make people aware of all my unhinged headcanons that don’t make sense when I try to explain them in a single post
Why is “love” as a magical force always good-aligned? Villains can’t love too? I wanna see two villains who adore each other so hard that the wicked power of love straight up fries the hero’s head off
Jonah Magnus didn’t want riches and fame. His greatest desires were not to die and not to suffer, which is very understandable, and he accomplished both of his goals! Sure, other people had to suffer and die for him to get there, but
I don’t think we (I say, talking to myself) talk enough about the fact that og!Elias worked in Artifact Storage for about 5 years. Like, Sasha transferred out after 3 months, and Gertrude saw her work history as impressive enough that she would be made Archivist. Like, what a surprisingly hard-working guy!
“apologist.” “critical.” y’all are doing too much. when my favorite characters do evil reprehensible shit I simply don’t fucking care cause it’s not real
me listening to early seasons tma for the first time: i am connecting NO DOTS. this “peter lukas” i keep hearing about? a different person every time. this guy with “poorly dyed black hair”? lots of people dye their hair black why do you expect me to know who that is. all michaels are the big hands dude. hill top road? different house every time. i am not connecting SHIT
live-blogging TMA was fun but the absolute funniest part was getting to the end of s2 when Jon found Leitner in the tunnels, and Leitner was like “I believe it was Elias who killed Gertrude.” That sounded highly suspicious to me and not worth trusting for a second so I added to my liveblog “Nah I don’t trust you Leitner” and then. Like. 30 seconds later…
I was going to post some Choice Horrifying Quotes from the article, but turns out the whole thing is a horror story and i’m just.
the fact that they got trapped and pulled in and thought they might die three times and were still like “hey what if we do one more” and only didn’t die because they decided to have a meal first??
yeah you wouldn’t need to change anything for this to be a TMA episode i absolutely agree, the damn thing already tried to kill them three times
okay guys u gotta read it. I was making highlights but it turned into a summary. still. read it. so worth it.
Ok so two people sink down to look around. Jill and her partner. First glimpse of horror (lots and lots of sea creatures) happens. But everything is pretty and they continue on
That’s the sound of their way in collapsing btw.
They find a way out. And then proceed to dive in again
they get out again.
The photos are sublime. So next day, Wes decided, hey, i want to go with you. Remember the camera i tested? We’re going to take even better pictures with it.
so they dive
and the current picks up again
Dude.
They got sucked in, obv. Water pouring down, the three try to get out. Fail. There’s no way up.
And then Jill decides to show human determination and ingenuity. Holy shit.
They get out. They see the boat with the science team, reaching for them. They’re late for two hours, but alive.
