Monster fucker this, monster fucker that. What if I want a monster RELATIONSHIP huh?! Monster HAND HOLDING, monster INTIMATE CONVERSATIONS, monster COMFORTABLE SILENCE??
consider: Elias is actually quite a catch by Traditional Lukas Standards (TLS)
Nathaniel: (after the customary Sorry for your losses have been exchanged) What’s it like being engaged to the Head of the Institute?
Peter: He’s very open about wanting me for my money, enjoys that I’ll be away from him most of the year, drives me even further apart than that with his endless prying, and would be fine with killing me in a heartbeat for his own plans, of which he tells me little.
Nathaniel: You’ve always been favored by Forsaken.
Peter: And, he’s all but guaranteed to outlive me. Do you think it’d be too soon if I told him I think he’d look good in black?
a collection of very serious lonelyeyes comics 😌 the last one is forever my favorite tma thing of all time
[Start ID: Three comics of Elias and Peter from the Magnus Archives. Elias has slicked back hair and wears dangly earrings with a closed eye at the end. He also wears a suit with a vest and tie. Peter has short hair pulled back into a ponytail and wears a sea captain’s coat along with a turtleneck sweater. He has a full beard.
1st comic: Peter looks at Elias with a serious expression and says, “Elias, I’m not budging on this. You can’t claim CO2 canisters as work expenses.”. In the next panel, Elias hums, clearly displeased. In the next panel, Elias takes out a planner and a pen, and says “Pardon me one moment.”. In the next panel he looks up at Peter with disdain and scribbles into the planner. In the last panel, Peter looks on in worry with a small blush and asks, “Wh - What are you crossing out? Elias…”. We can view Elias’ schedule within his planner that is as follows:
0900: Behold
1030: Meeting with Peter
The times are cut off the rest but the next line states “Give Peter a blowjob” and this is actively being crossed out. The next line says “Behold” which is what he intended to do after the previous line.
2nd comic: In the first panel, Elias is handing a document envelope to Jon’s hand, stating “Here are those new statements, Archivist.”. Jon accepts them and says “Yes, thank you.”. In the next panel, Jon begins to take out the statements from the envelope, saying “Huh - lighter than usual…”. Jon has short curly hair and wears rectangular glasses. In the next panel, Jon looks down in horror as what he pulls out is a photograph addressed “To Elias” with a heart next to it. Jon stutters “I-”. In the next panel, Elias looks at the photo with comically large eyes that have red in the pupils and an even more horrified expression than Jon’s. From the view of the photograph, it appears to be Peter in nothing but a hat. In the next panel, Elias dramatically snatches the photograph out of Jon’s hands with an angry expression. In the next panel, Elias holds up a different document envelope with an embarrassed expression, sweating and shaking profusely, he says “Apologies. It seems I mislabeled some files. This one is correct.”. In the final panel, there is a box with the word “Later” in it. Next to it, Elias’ face is blurred from motion and his hands are outstretched towards Peter ready to strangle him. Elias has a red slit for an eye and has a few disembodied red eyes behind him. Peter stands in front of him blissfully unaware and asks with a blush, “Hey, did you like those pictures-?”.
3rd comic: In the first panel, Elias is frothing mad, his teeth sharp and grey steam coming off him. He angrily demands, “Peter. Give me the alimony check now.” In the next panel, Peter’s disembodied hand holds up a check that Elias looks at furiously in the background. Peter asks, “Oh, this check?”. Elias is growling in the background. In the next panel, Peter waves the check with an amuses expression, saying “You have to be quicker than that, Elias”. His sentence is punctuated with a heart. In the next panel, Peter holds the check out to the side at an arm’s length with a smile. He thinks to himself, “Oh man. Heh, heh. He looks furious.”. Elias is not in the panel but his gradual scream is represented by several lowercase a’s followed by several uppercase A’s. At the rightmost side of the panel, there is a large dialogue bubble where Elias screams, “Peter!!!”. In the last panel, Peter has turned semi-transparent with clouds of fog around him. There is a loud crash and an Elias shaped hole is in the wall behind his arm, several cracks are coming off the hole as well. Peter laughs, “Holy shit, haha.” in all caps.
[ID: A digital picture of an open spiral spine notebook on a teal background. In the notebook there is a bullet point list written in cursive green text titled “What to pack”. Sometimes there is a remark add to the bullet point in blue text. The text in the notebook goes as followed:
What to pack list
At least one outfit for a day
At least one presentable shirt for Peter (what you mean by presentable?) A shirt without stupid pun
All the necessary travel documents, tickets, insurance and other stuff my husband would forget (we do not even need insurance!) It was just fun to do the paperwork for it
Divorce papers - just in case (do you need to write it down? You have their copy hidden everywhere…) what are you talking about, dear?
Greek myths and history book, guide through Athens (please try to refrain from taking too many books) Define too many?
The literature I wanted to catch up for a while (Are we taking your entire library Elias?)
Work laptop (you promised no work during the honeymoon) Just in case of absolute emergency I swear!
Sunscreen
Skin care package
Sunglasses
Bedroom toys (By that you mean…?) Yes, don’t worry about it
Swimsuit (you do not like swimming) I might want to go sunbathing!
Towels and bathrobe (won’t be some at hotel?) What if I will not like the material?
Camera (No photos of me though) …we will talk about that
Barnabas (we are not taking bones of your ex-boyfriend Elias…) He always wanted to visit Greece (either he goes or I go) I will have to think about it (…)
There is also blue drawing of a ship in top right corner of the page and green drawing of an eye in bottom right corner of the page. End of ID]
Obsessed with the idea of sacrifice in a book being a selfish act rather than a selfless one. Their lover screaming at them: “How dare you leave me in this barren world? How dare you take away my choice to die for you and leave me with this grief?”. They are dead, and their lover is left - a gaping wound - bleeding into the ground. Do they love them so much that they would die for them, or do they love them so much that they forced the other to live without them? Sacrifice as a bitter act. Sacrifice as something wildly violent; something tormentingly cruel — but always, always built on love. Perhaps, they are both martyrs in the end.
“I,” J- no, Elias now- spoke delicately, voice rough from the crocodile tears he’d been shedding, “cannot believe you wore navy to poor James’ funeral.”
“Can you at least hold the umbrella so that I’m not getting rained on?”
“One would think,” Elias ignored him, “seeing as funerals are the only social events your family holds, that you would have some proper clothes to wear for one.”
“It’s dark enough. It’s practically black.” No one at a Lukas funeral would have looked twice at Peter’s coat. No one would have looked once at him either. They all preferred to keep their eyes to themselves, like civilized people. “You’re the only one here who cares about this.”
“It’s my funeral; mine is the only opinion that matters!”
“You are the most self-centered person I know.”
The other Magnus Institute employees attending James Wright’s funeral edged further away from the pair.
They get divorced so much because they care about each other. Hear me out.
Peter NEEDS to be alone. Being involved, it’s draining, it’s antithetical to what he is. But he does truly care for Elias.
Elias loves paperwork. Any properly drafted paperwork can cause anyone proper amounts of paranoia. Writing up the divorce papers and adding (useless) stipulations is exciting.
Elias knows Peter needs to be alone at times, and Peter knows how much Elias loves those useless contracts.
So when Elias Knows Peter is drained past comfort he finds something small to get divorced over. To them that is how they say I love you. You’ll never hear them say the words but they know it.
Michael’s girlfriend not only rejected his marriage proposal but she also broke up with him. He wants to sulk and be alone. Or overall to do anything but to engage in conversation with a weird sea man who decides to discuss his own failed marriage proposals with him.
To say that Michael is not having the best day today would be an understatement. Things like that one runs out of coffee, forgets an umbrella on a stormy day and loses his wallet are unfortunate, yes, especially when they pile up on each other like this. But they are still not tragedies. Unlike his girlfriend, well, ex-girlfriend now, rejecting his marriage proposal on their one-year anniversary dinner.
He has no idea what he has done wrong. Yes, they have been seeing each other much less lately but she has started a new job so of course she has not had so much time for him. They were together for a whole year! What did she mean that he is going too fast and being too clingy? Did she forget how he let her stay at his place after she lost her last job and supported her while she was looking for a new one? Was she just using him?
Quote from Circe by Madeline Miller <3 Also, I really wanted to make a web weave kind of thing, so I put even more quotes I liked for their relationship under the cut:
“Zuihitsu” Jenny Xie // “Identity” Milan Kundera // A Conversation Between Timothy Morton and Jeff VanderMeer // Hannibal 3.03 “Secondo” // “I See/You Mean” Lucy R. Lippard // Mahmoud Darwish // Vincent van Gogh // “I never went to that movie at 12:45″ Dolly Lemke // “Abject Permanence” Larissa Pham // “Departure” Erika L. Sanchez
The Usher Foundation obtains quite strange artifacts. They barely manage to write down their strange history before Magnus Institute starts making the claims for them.
Charlie is thrilled about their promotion. They were working in the Research department of the Usher Foundation for quite a while and most of the time they were just sorting documents and doing background checks of items from the comfort of their office. Nothing they would call real research. Nothing that would allow them to come in contact with the supernatural and cursed-… They stop themselves in their mind. No, these are not the appropriate terms as their boss would say. ‘The objects with suspicion of unnatural occurrence’ is what they are expected to call them. Or something like that.
But who cares. Charlie has always been fascinated by occult and unexplainable stuff and they will finally get their chance to learn more about it. They will get to lead their own project researching their own item with a history of ‘unnatural occurrences.’ Last few days they have been studying all the information so far, they prepared possible suggestions for experimentations and they’ve signed all the necessary documentation regarding safety measurements with handling it. And today, today they can finally start the real work-
“What do you mean ‘the item not found’? Check again!” Charlie leans over to see at the screen of the artifact storage curator because she surely must have put it wrongly in the system. The curator gives them an annoyed look and turns the screen away from Charlie.
“I have just added in the code you said,” she shrugs, “It says the items are no longer in care of Usher Foundation as project #0110207 ‘Wedding Rings’ was canceled-“
I love any version of Peter with long hair, but especially when it’s extra long, not just a little scruffy. That man has never had been to a barbershop and he stopped getting haircuts the moment his childhood caretakers stopped cutting his hair for him <3
The first time Jonah saw him after becoming Elias, he itched to run his fingers through Peter’s hair. An instinct left over from Elias’s own preferences; James had liked to pull his hair, but had no further thoughts about it. But Jonah has never been one to deny himself what he wants, so Elias braided Peter’s hair and claimed it was to practice hand-eye coordination in his new body
Peter gives James a smile then, as uncharacteristic as anything for a Lukas, though it’s just as sharp as the last time he did, like a mouth filled with knives and hard edges, and though light, filled with mockery. James finds that he doesn’t necessarily mind it.
Day Five - Courtship.
Fandom: The Magnus Archives (Podcast) Pairing(s): Elias Bouchard | Jonah Magnus/Peter Lukas, Peter Lukas & James Wright Words: 11483 Chapters: 1/1
i love you betrayals between people who still love each other i love you devotion to the point of destruction i love you selfish choices made in the name of love i love you devastating consequences of those choices
Elias Bouchard does not care about Peter Lukas. Please keep this information in your mind as it is very important for Elias that everyone knows that.
ELIAS: Good afternoon, Mr. Lukas.
His voice is dripping with politeness. He does his best to hide any signs of familiarity in front of the audience. There is no audience.
ELIAS: What a pleasant surprise!
He fills the silence in the time Peter is taking a seat with more unnecessary words. The previously done proclamation could not be any further from the truth. Peter’s presence is no surprise as Elias knew very well Peter was coming. Peter’s presence is also not very pleasant as Elias is still mad at him about the thing that happened the last time. It is not important for the audience to know what was the thing that happened the last time.
PETER: Likewise. Mr. Bouchard.
Peter hates performing the play. It is pointless. There is no audience to perform for and they both know the script. Unfortunately for Peter, he does not have much to say in it.
Oh, yes, and they also happen to be ex-husbands. Important details that should have been mentioned sooner in the script. Apologies.
[I.D: A photo of an iced cake on display. The cake is heart shaped, covered in red fondant, with white icing along the edges. In the center of the heart, a message is written in white icing script. It reads: “I am divorcing you”. Beside the cake is a label that says “Red Velvet Heart Cake”. End I.D.]
