TW suicide attempt

So this is my take on Jayce and Mel in the alternate timeline, where Jayce after seeing two children dying from the explosion caused by his invention immediately jumps off the ruins of his apartment, and instead of dying he breaks his legs and survives, which helps him evade arrest but ultimately leaves him with a disability. He turns away from his research and science in general, and finds that he actually loves painting. So, once Mel commissions him a portrait and that’s where their situationship starts

I think after his suicide attempt he didn’t have much energy to look after himself, and then he got better he figured he actually liked this unkempt look so he decided to keep it
