- carries his own battered washable thermos, not because he cares about the environment, but because he hates the idea of “someone else being involved” with his coffee

- does not (you maniacs) wear a tweedy blazer with fashionably-scruffy elbow pads. he wears a single breasted navy jacket made of something which can only generously and broadly be called “blazer material”. it has a shine, and the fabric makes a faint whooshing noise whenever he moves his arms.

- showers twice a day, but hasn’t gotten more than three hours of sleep a night for a decade, so whatever kempt-ness he attempts to wrestle into his appearance (usually on the tube, in the reflection of a window) never takes. he looks like a short, aggressively shabby stork when he stands within eight feet of elias, a man who is so evenly symmetrically attractive as to be somewhat disconcerting.

absolutely wed to the mental image of elias bouchard in the moments before he bludgeons jurgen leitner to death: still speaking, but maintaining calm, glittering eye contact as he methodically undoes his cufflinks and rolls up each sleeve precisely twice. this will require some force, and he is an exacting man*.
