A digital drawing of Jonathan Sims, a character from a podcast 'The Magnus Archives'. He is an adult brown masculine person with wavy dark brown hair and a little facial and body hair. He is sitting on grass with his legs apart and hands invisible to the viewer, behind him is dark purple background with vaguely drawn eyes, behind his head is sun looking spot with a big eye in it. He is wearing a long pink skirt, dark purple combat boots, fuzzy light socks, light ruffled shirt and a pink choker with spikes. He is looking sadly at the viewer. End IDALT

when i read the ceaseless watcher line before listening to TMA i interpreted it as a prayer kinda thing? a begging to be let go, a plea for release for the one speaking it.

“Ceaseless watcher, turn your gaze upon this wretched thing,” begs a prophet to a god who never wanted to be what it is, a wretched thing that knows its own pathetic nature.

and now i’m through TMA I still can’t help but imagine it in that way. think what would have happened if Jon had begged to be released

“Ceaseless watcher, turn your gaze upon this voyeur. See it as it feasts on the fear of a world that it- broke.”

And he looks at himself, riddled with eyes and living off of fear, continues to pray for it to be over, “Consume it whole, and spit out its eyeless body, weak and wanting for nothing more than eternal darkness…”

He doesn’t know if it’ll work (an Eye can’t see itself, after all), but isn’t it worth trying? Isn’t it worth this? For the world, for the future, for those he loves that he hasn’t led to their deaths yet, “Take its eyes, Ceaseless watcher, and be the last thing it sees.
