Vast Jon going to bed and having dreams of an ever drifting sky, bright and glaring and forever blue. How it called to him, how that pit seemed to drop forever in his gut, like he was about to empty it. How he felt light headed, but not just from the dread. There was a rush to that fall, that…endlessness. There was no possible way to explain it and yet he had a voice, in the back of his head, that perhaps it didn’t need explaining. For to need an explanation is to assume you’re important enough to be pondered, and perhaps that was it.
When he wakes up he falls down the stairs at work because he filled his boots with coal.
This ask stuck in my mind ever since I read it. It’s so pretty and the words are so vivid, it literally inspired me to draw fully-formed vast!jon, it’s just- 🥺💙

bit of a self indulgent ask, but i Adore your vast!jon au and i was wondering if by any chance he made friends with mike crew at some point 👀👀?
(I’ve always thought mikes character could’ve been explored more in canon, maybe if he survived daisy’s attack jon would’ve come back w more questions or smth, maybe this time he actually accepts his tea offer lmao)
Actually a few people asked me if vast!jon would be friends with Mike crew.
Imo, he would be an outside party that is not involved with Simon Fairchild’s affairs, but Jon heard of him and met him a couple of times.
When jon finally catches on that something isn’t right, he goes to his place and asks for answers (this would happen around end season 2 probs)

Thank you!! Also, I think that Mike would take sort of the role of Gerry Keay. He would help Jon make a little more sense about some entities, but not as much as Gerry (after all Mike only knows about the vast and he is vaguely aware of the bone turner tale and the Magnus institute).
I’m certain that Mike very much does not want to get involved in ANY of that, he just gave this one freebie to Jon because he’s from the vast as well, but he probs does not want to be bothered again. From the podcast it is pretty clear he’s kinda neutral about everything and he only wants to chill and have his main character moment with the vast alone, and I respect that 👌

ok so this isn’t really an Ask but i wanted to share my thoughts because the concept of mike and jon getting to know each other has been eating at my brain for months now-
first off, i see jon and mike as opposites in terms of how they deal with their “avatarhood” where jon feels immense guilt over using his powers, mike very much enjoys it and has a uncaring attitude towards his victims. but even within canon they both Enjoy it, jon might feel Gallons of guilt but it is stated multiple times that he does enjoy Using his abilities. and AGAHD god this eats at me every time i think about it- but mike truly IS the embodiment of freedom (for better or for worse morally), and in this case he is the embodiment of freedom for Jon. because jon cannot be free of his guilt but there is very much a part of him that sees avatars basically Thriving and being Happy and satisfied in their roles and he feels jealous (just as he was jealous of jonah being the pupil at the end)
and well i think that in a different world they could’ve been friends, mike could’ve given jon a nudge to lean a bit more into his role as the archivist, and he could’ve been a bit more unhinged as a treat
yeah thank you for reading my rant about the potential relationship between the protagonist and the guy that appears on scene for like 15 minutes and then dies 👍

Hi ! I was curious : at which point your Vast!Jon gets his star shaped scar ? Is it straight up season 1 when Simon throws him in the Vast for the first time, or is it later, in like season 4 or 5 ?
He would get his scar the first time when he went in the vast lol, when he fell out of it he hit the back of his head kinda hard and that’s why he has an undercut lol (also because he looks cool ✨)
(Im so sorry if it’s not super clear, I really made that comic in a rush lol)
