as a person whose name gets butchered about 90 percent of the time I introduce myself to someone who doesn't (and every now and then even by people who do) speak my language:

have you ever come across a nickname, variant or pronunciation of your name you really do/don't like? Maybe had a good laugh about someone misreading/mispronouncing your last name?

Some examples I can think of would be Xander, Sascha, Aleksanteri, Alessandro or maybe Alexander pronounced in an American/German/Russian/... accent.

(Started listening to RQG a bit ago with no knowledge about TTRPG at all. Thank you guys for providing a gateway, which doesn't drown a beginner in question marks!)

I get called Alec a lot by fandoms which seems weird to me because in the UK at least that is a much rarer name.

I’ve had some pretty hurtful nicknames over the years I don’t intend to share here.

You won’t annoy be by mispronouncing my name unless you are being deliberately obtuse.
