hello, dear mr bossman!

big big fan of your work🥰

i have a question and i’m sorry if it’s been asked already but

have you ever thought of adapting tma into tv series?? feels like it has an amazing potential even though it might be hard to transfer all the podcast loveliness to the screen 🤔

an anthology of interconnected horror stories with a background office drama?? yum yum yum

have a nice day, mr bossman and thank you for making my life a little bit spookier!

Okay I get this question a lot so may as well answer it.

Yes, yes we have.

Let’s just say that covid + writer’s strike + LA Burning Down + the streaming wars + actual wars + other drama is making it tricky for anything original to get made unless you do it in-house.

I have a question about the Protocol transcripts. In Ep. 31, the transcript says upload data sulpher.becher, but the audio says discard data sulpher.becher. Is this a typo, or do the transcripts intentionally include details that differ from the audio?

Hey,

Been getting this one a lot. To be clear:

There was just a mix-up and we’ll be fixing the transcripts in due course, we’re not getting all deliberately meta on you here.

It’s a fun mistake I’ll probably talk more about later but not worth hanging your entire red-string theory on.

When in doubt audio reigns supreme and transcripts are intended as a tool to assist listening.

well here’s another question that you probably get a lot and once more again (sorry)

Is there any possibility of graphic novel versions of TMA/TMP? I am seeing all the beautiful art from monte cook/tangled in the web and it is making me crave comic versions in a way I never have before.

thanks!

Working on it.

Good example actually.

In principal graphic novels should be an obvious move but often when you make an agreement involving rights with a third party they can have conditions like “we’ll make X but you can’t make Y until we’re finished.”

It just so happens that everyone has strong opinions on graphic novels meaning they are often a “frozen” right, same for books. This basically is an agreement that no-one will make one until everyone with a stake unanimously agrees.

Rest assured that when we can do this without issue (pun intended) I intend to push for it.

what do you think of avogadros constant?

im in love with it and wont stop annoying my friend with it

6.02x10^23 my beloved

It’s pretty bloody nifty.

I wanted to work it into Protocol as an eldritch thing but didn’t find a good opportunity in the series Bible so now pretty unlikely unless inspiration strikes.

Blame Jonny.
(Not because it’s his fault or anything, just on principal y'know?)

Hi Alex! I got tickets for the live show (which I'm so excited for!) but I was wondering if we have a rough time estimate of the show so I can book my tickets back home! Thanks so much :)

(p.s. I am soooo excited to see it!!)

I am seriously limited in what I can say due to A) not being the logistics head for it and B) Confidentiality requirements.

That said:
Show is written to be 2 hours + interval. However, it’s not in physical rehearsal yet so there is big wiggle there (likely upwards). Also depending on your ticket I believe there may be some additional bells and whistles attached and I don’t know if those will happen before or after the show etc. (I don’t even know the start time off the top of my head!)

Treat it as a normal UK theatre show but not a West End Musical that lasts for like 5 hours and you’ll be in the right ballpark. It’s better to end up booking transport home too late rather than too early tough and for questions like this your best bet is probably mail@rustyquill.com (unless they say otherwise!)

TLDR: Dunno, like 2-3hrs depending?

is the elric rehab center’s name a fullmetal alchemist reference or was that just a funny coincidence

Not a coincidence.
