I do have a question too, though (sorry? Maybe?). Is your background primarily in manga/anime and/or do you mostly base it on more realistic forms of anatomy (so figure drawing or sth)?

I understand there is always going to be a mix of backgrounds, btw! And maybe it's a symptom of me not being a major anime/manga fan, unable to tell what is what, I just love your style and would love to know how you got started and developed from there!

it’s a little bit difficult to answer your question because i’m unsure what you’re basing your distinction between manga/anime and ‘realistic forms of anatomy’ on 🤔 if you’re asking whether i started by emulating the style of this or that anime/manga, then no, i didn’t! i took some art classes as a child; they were nothing special but we were taught the basics of proportions and did figure drawing as well as drew from imagination (and i still do figure drawing and study human anatomy of course, that hasn’t stopped). roughly speaking, my knowledge of anatomy comes from real people, cause that’s where anatomy comes from haha. but in my experience, looking at & studying animation and comics done by other artists can help you understand how to portray something in a dynamic fashion.
