oh i’m now realizing that this might not be clear because the drawing is posed a certain way for the sake of aesthetically pleasing composition, but especially if you’re not familiar with the practice, so as an addendum: what Essek is doing with his hand is checking for nerve compression. Caleb is squeezing his fingers to let him know/ensure that he can still easily move his hand! this tie can damage both your radial and ulnar nerves if done improperly (and sometimes if you’re simply unlucky), so what i wanted to show was some wizard-to-wizard communication : )
