i think the whole painting process might be a little too difficult to explain in just one tutorial; i honestly wouldn’t even know where to start. i do cover a few different aspects of it in my comments to some of my progress shots (under the #zmeess progress shots tag), and also in my replies to some asks i’ve received (i’ve just gone through my posts and tried to tag all the remotely relevant stuff #zmeess art advice). please do feel free to ask me to explain something specific you’re curious about. full disclosure, it might take me a while to reply, but i will try my best to answer your question!

big same! funny you messaged me now, i was just discussing that with the lads. i’m personally very attached to the reading that essek wasn’t romantically or sexually attracted to caleb for a very long time (unlike caleb to essek!) and specifically only fully realized his romantic feelings towards caleb when caleb destroyed the t-dock; so to me, it’s very nice to have some meta commentary that would indirectly support this interpretation.

would you mind clarifying, do you mean reflections of objects on highly reflective surfaces such as glass, highlights on reflective surfaces, or indirect reflected light (such as when a red object casts red onto a nearby white object)? feel free to reblog with what you meant or send another ask, and i will try my best to explain!

at first i was expecting it to be in the shape of a dragon, then i thought that surely it will be a dick and then i started to fear that i was gonna be rickrolled at the end of this 15 minute long video, but none of those things happened. this was an intriguing experience
Will you post any more watercolor studies? Theyre absolutely gorgeous! I've been trying to replicate watercolor texture/behavior digitally and theyre probably the best source of reference/inspiration I have so far, as someone who never really bought physical watercolors
i’m glad you like those studies and that they serve as a point of inspiration for you 🥰 as for your question: it’s possible but not likely? i rarely work with traditional media anymore, those four studies i posted are really it when it comes to recent stuff 😂 three were from an outing in august and one is an older thing from like two years ago. me and one of my roommates were planning to make another plein air trip in september, but september is almost over and i don’t know if that will pan out with the weather and our schedules. if we do end up going somewhere though i might post stuff later!

no, i haven’t! i do remember that i really really liked his belt, but i generally picture essek wearing clothes that are quite different from that outfit, so i’m having trouble imagining how i’d draw it in my style 🤔 HOWEVER, entirely unrelated to the art: i had very strong opinions on the fact that the figure had a black parasol and not a pink one, so i might want to remedy that injustice in the future /j
