I might’ve accidentally called you “bro” in my last ask, my bad I didn’t mean to use a gendered term. I sent the ask and then completely forgot what I’d written it’s 11pm but apologies anyway
Ur okay, I approve of “bro” and “dude” as enby words
Man your art is very gender in a soulful, haunted way. Like if wandering througb a foggy, relatively barren land and happening upon the ruins of an ancient building and wondering what happened was rolled into a gender identity. Does this make sense
I like the way you’ve put it tbh.
Gender identity has been a pretty big topic all throughout my life, but it is only in the last couple of years that I feel I can really recognize it and acknowledge what it is I wish to portray and explore, so seeing others recognize that attempt within my work is very encouraging.
Your storytelling skills are hugely inspiring, whenever you post tidbits of your characters’ lives I find myself immersed in the art, trying to string together a narrative from what other pieces you’ve posted, and also perhaps to learn a thing or two about rendering as your painting is visually rich and very pleasing
Overall thank you for sharing your craft with the world!
Awe I am very glad you enjoy it! ;; I am very reluctant about sharing most of my world-building because unlike my art I have never really had the pleasure of sharing it publically and receiving affirmation for it, assuring me that it’s good.
I’d like to think most of my story concepts are rather generic, it’s just the conversation spawning out of those settings that I find most pleasant… getting to confront a mindset I’ve written is very fun.
The fire demons 👀 is there anywhere else I can learn more about them (And your other OCs too honestly!) cause I want to absorb as much lore like a sponge 💖💖💖 Also are fanart for your OCs ok? :0c
((btw your art is phenomenal and gives my brain good chemicals C: Love seeing you on my dash! ^v^
Awe I would love to share more about them - they are DnD characters so a lot of their story is still developing, but I do hope with a bit more time I may be able to make small comic strips in the future to show off their dynamic a bit more!
Also yes I more than welcome fanart if you feel tempted at all!
And thank you kindly! Having moved to Tumblr has genuinely been such a pleasant surprise, people are very kind and welcoming here! uvu
What upsets me is that I cannot think of good ways to communicate the thrill of environmental shapes
like communicating “Oh these rocks intertwine into this really fun parkour that you have to maneuver around by doing blablabla”
I sometimes feel like descriptions cannot quite match the feeling of the adrenaline that is to crawl through hidden spaces and reach high up trees and squeeze through small corners… or the thrill of seeing an environment that is so strangely shaped that it is exciting to wanna work around it.
Hovering mid-air floating pieces of land that you can jump across, roots that reach so high that they create little caverns under themselves…
Those are the sort of descriptions I wanna learn to do, but I gotta think for a while every time, so especially in a scenario like hosting DnD I worry I won’t ever be as good if I don’t pre-write chunks of my narration.
Additionally did this rendering study … really hoping to get better with rendering human faces, but its still a bit tricky- though I am gaining confidence knowing I’m going somewhere
Comparing this latest piece of Ipos to a render I did of her in 2021, since I felt like I really needed to just… remind myself that I’ve been improving my work, one step at a time.
I may still have a long way to go, but its nice knowing I haven’t been stagnant uvu
This is probably the first time a post of mine has received so much attention that I actually didn’t find the time to read every single response made to it
I didn’t think Tumblr of all places would be the one to introduce me to that - now that it has calmed down- the reblogs are nuts, thank you for your time
Trying to visualize the concept of a lightless void that persists within light itself without either canceling out the other.
This dynamic is important to me so I’d hate to fail it in the visual already–
Having these two characters complement each other even though their shared experiences have left them estranged is something I hadn’t thought I’d have such a tough time visualizing…
I really want to convey the difference between loud and silent mania with them, though I feel like my attempts thus far have been pretty tame
