What upsets me is that I cannot think of good ways to communicate the thrill of environmental shapes
like communicating “Oh these rocks intertwine into this really fun parkour that you have to maneuver around by doing blablabla”
I sometimes feel like descriptions cannot quite match the feeling of the adrenaline that is to crawl through hidden spaces and reach high up trees and squeeze through small corners… or the thrill of seeing an environment that is so strangely shaped that it is exciting to wanna work around it.
Hovering mid-air floating pieces of land that you can jump across, roots that reach so high that they create little caverns under themselves…
Those are the sort of descriptions I wanna learn to do, but I gotta think for a while every time, so especially in a scenario like hosting DnD I worry I won’t ever be as good if I don’t pre-write chunks of my narration.
