I was wondering how you make your smoke look so nice? Like in the sleepy blond man painting with the incense/various cig smoke in paintings. Do you masking fluid it out & do at the end? Or do u just rawdog it and pray to god to preserve some good white? White ink?

I used to do quite a bit of the smoke with some gouache, but recently I’ve been doing it digitally in procreate :> at some point I’ll show a side by side of an edited and unedited version of the same painting, I usually spend anywhere from an hour to three hours adjusting things in procreate ♥️
