i noticed that you've never drawn locke standing up - always sitting or laying down (unless i missed something). Is it because his legs game is too strong? are his legs too powerful to be fully seen by mortal eyes? sexxy legg?
congratulations anon you have discovered his TRUE FORM
for real though he’s just annoyingly large.
I find it kind of tricky to fit him into frame, especially when he’s supposed to be interacting with other normal-sized dragons, so I just make him sit down to save space :D
the arcanist and the plaguebringer both doing utter nonsense with their magic and also looking at the nonsense the other one is doing across the border
I don’t have a computer so you guys will have to deal with phone pictures of ink sketches lol. In order from first to last we have my mascot Nimrook, some random Mirrors and a very sloppy sketch of @pocketss Rin, and lastly Safadel, my first fully gened gen one.

8D This is Rin. She belongs to @pocketss. I adore her. Rrav isn’t so sure. Basically I wanted to do a doodle of the toothy lovely, & chose Rrav & when I went to doodle realized that Rin is nearly twice Rrav’s size. I was ecstatic. Rrav is just a bit worried. He’s not used to meeting dragons from other clans.
Please help I can't dragon art a t a l L.... but I really want to...... do you have any tips? (I'll draw one of your bois when I figure it out I mean they're so irresistible and part of the reason why I want to learn so bad tbh)
I’m planning on putting together some sort of tutorial/how-i-draw-dragons kinda thing at some point!! Hopefully in december if I can find the time :0
I’d suggest looking at animal anatomy for reference - I think dogs and big cats can be very useful for shape and poses :]
I always thought that all of your dragons were big and that Locke was just an extra big boy. But if Rin is having so much trouble with a fish then is she bitty? Maybe she caught a whopper, but still? Could we get a a sizing comparison of your babies next to a human or a banana for scale? I thought Locke would be the size of a building, but for all I know he could be deer sized and easily to hug. Would Rin fit in pocketss' pockets?
Oh!! I actually just made a rough scale thingy for these two, because I’m always messing up their sizes.
So yeah, they’re fairly big! It was a very large fish :D
“Well aren’t you absolutely adorable, you little darling!”
After seeing so much of @pocketss adorable Rin, I couldn’t help but to draw her as well! With Haven’s lovely mother, Urania. I’m pretty sure her motherly instincts and need to praise and cuddle every single dragon she meets will be her doom one day…
So um I’m working on a new mirror adopt and well I had to just test it out on a mirror that I love so much, @pocketss rin…. I swear to god that this angry little dragon is taking over this website.
omg i would be the worst dragon in the world I wouldn’t have any cool spikes or anything just a mug of coffee and a lot of stress
Huh, I expected you to look more like this:
So yeah, you got an upgraded lizard. :3
But I think you drank all of the coffee.
YOOO!! That is definitely an upgrade.
I tried to make a happy medium between “worst dragon in the world” and “upgraded lizard“ and ended up with “thoroughly mediocre dragon that is basically just an insomniac swamp opossum”.
“insomniac swamp opossum” MIGHT be the most accurate description of me ever thank you <3
I'm really struggling with figuring out mirror heads!! How do you draw them? Do got tips? (Luv Rin. Rin is good. Will doddle one day)
Sure! I am Not Great at tutorial stuff but this is pretty much how I handle heads, I hope this makes sense ;O;
I prefer to work out a simple base shape before anything - in Rin’s case her head is kind of teardrop-shaped.
So from the top she’s pretty much a teardrop, and from the side she looks like a pointy dog snake. Don’t forget the pivot point where the jaw opens, that will help you a lot with expressions and structure:
I still struggle with angles and 3D-ness in general, but that stuff always gets better with practice. If I want to get a bit more detailed and snarly then I still work from that basic teardrop head, sort of carving away at the mouth area. I think of the face as a wrapping around the skull. Pulling back the lips will scrunch up the face, and reveal more teeth and gum.
I tend to add horns/fins afterwards. Oh and of course you can play with all kinds of face shapes :0
As always I’d suggest looking at animals for reference if you’re having trouble. Dogs, lizards, dinosaurs, whatever you’re feeling - skulls can be particularly useful to look at. :]
Consider: a tundra that was breed-changed to a mirror. Still has poor eyesight, but rather than identifying people by smell, it tells them apart by taste.
Cue fluffy Mirror running around licking strangers.
